On the afternoon of June 1, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that severe heat has been occurring widely in the Northern Delta, the western mountainous areas of Thanh Hoa - Nghe An and Hoa Binh provinces. Some places recorded temperatures exceeding 39 degrees Celsius.

Specifically, at 1 p.m., the common temperature was from 35-38 degrees Celsius. Many areas exceeded 38 degrees Celsius such as: Lang ( Hanoi ) 39.4 degrees Celsius; Ha Dong (Hanoi) 39 degrees Celsius; Lac Son (Hoa Binh) 38.8 degrees Celsius; Phu Ly (Ha Nam) 38.7 degrees Celsius; Do Luong (Nghe An) 38.2 degrees Celsius; Bai Thuong (Thanh Hoa) 38.1 degrees Celsius. Humidity was only 45-55%, causing a stuffy feeling.
The meteorological agency also said that the above figures are only measured temperatures in meteorological tents. The outside air temperature is usually 2-4 degrees Celsius higher, and on concrete surfaces it can differ by 10-20 degrees Celsius.
It is forecasted that on June 2, the heat wave will continue in the North Central region, the Northern Delta and Hoa Binh. The highest temperature is commonly between 37-39 degrees Celsius, with some places exceeding 39 degrees Celsius. The remaining areas in the North, Central Central and South Central regions will also experience heat waves, with some places experiencing severe temperatures of 35-37 degrees Celsius, with some places exceeding 38 degrees Celsius. The lowest humidity is commonly between 45-50%.
On June 3, the heat wave gradually decreased in the North, only occurring locally in the North Central region. Meanwhile, the Central Central and South Central regions continued to be hot, with some areas experiencing severe heat waves with temperatures ranging from 35-37 degrees Celsius, and some areas exceeding 38 degrees Celsius.
The widespread heat wave in the Central region may continue for many more days. It is expected that from June 4 to 5, the heat wave intensity will decrease slightly.
