Hanoi: Launching the Tree Planting Festival

Kinhtedothi - On February 6th, at the Mieu Men historical site (Ba Vi district), the Hanoi City Women's Union launched the Tree Planting Festival in accordance with President Ho Chi Minh's teachings - "Women Cultivating the Future" for the Spring of the Year of the Snake 2025.

Before the ceremony, delegates offered incense and flowers at the Mieu Men Historical Site - a place of worship dedicated to Queen Man, the mother who gave birth to, nurtured, and contributed to the nation the two heroines Trung Trac and Trung Nhi (two female generals in the uprising to drive out foreign invaders).

Speaking at the ceremony, the President of the Hanoi Women's Union, Le Kim Anh, said that over the past 65 years, the Tree Planting Festival, following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings, has truly brought great benefits to the country and has become a beautiful tradition of our people every time Tet and Spring arrive.

Tree planting and reforestation have made a significant contribution to proactively preventing and mitigating natural disasters, regulating the climate, improving the ecological environment, beautifying the natural landscape, promoting sustainable socio -economic development of the country, and enhancing the material and spiritual lives of the people.

Remembering President Ho Chi Minh 's teachings, celebrating the glorious 95th anniversary of the Party, and welcoming the Year of the Snake 2025, the Executive Committee of the Hanoi City Women's Union organized a tree-planting program following Uncle Ho's teachings - "Women Cultivating the Future" in the Year of the Snake 2025.

This event marks the beginning of a special and vibrant emulation campaign among all levels of the Women's Union and women of all walks of life in Hanoi to celebrate the Party Congresses at all levels, the National Emulation Congresses at all levels, and major holidays in 2025, commemorating the 115th anniversary of International Women's Day on March 8th, and the 1985th anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung Uprising.

The Executive Committee of the Hanoi Women's Union requests that all levels of the Union and each official, member, and woman in the capital city, along with their families, actively participate in environmental protection through concrete and practical actions, such as planting, caring for, and protecting trees; improving the quality of self-managed roads and streets; effectively implementing the "Three Cleans" (clean from home, clean alleys, clean streets), sorting waste at household level, and responding to the "Bright-Green-Clean-Beautiful" emulation movement launched by the Hanoi People's Committee. Each local Union branch should register one greening project, striving for all levels of the Women's Union throughout the city to plant 5,000 trees and fruit trees.

On this occasion, the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union also launched the "Flowering Street/Road" competition, managed by women's associations at all levels, for the year 2025. The entire city aims to maintain and improve the quality of over 2,000 green, clean, and beautiful streets, roads, cultural centers, community centers, and historical sites.

"The flower-lined roads and streets, which will continue to be implemented in 30 districts, counties, and towns, will be meaningful projects and activities leading up to the 5th National Emulation Congress of the Vietnam Women's Union, celebrating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Hanoi City Party Committee (March 17, 1930 - March 17, 2025) and other major national holidays in 2025," emphasized Le Kim Anh, President of the Hanoi City Women's Union.
