Hanoi established 31 grassroots unions

On the morning of August 21, the Hanoi City Labor Federation (HLF) held a conference to announce the decision to establish a grassroots trade union.

According to the decision, the Hanoi City Labor Federation established 31 affiliated grassroots unions with 1,646 union members.

Grassroots trade unions have legal status, use their own seals, open bank accounts; perform duties and exercise powers in accordance with the provisions of law and the Charter of Vietnam Trade Union.

Speaking at the conference, Permanent Vice President in charge of the Hanoi City Labor Confederation Le Dinh Hung briefly informed about the operation of the Capital City Labor Union after the reorganization; at the same time, affirmed that the City Labor Confederation always accompanies grassroots unions in implementing the tasks of the grassroots Union organization.

The leaders of the Hanoi City Labor Federation suggested that newly established grassroots unions focus on performing well the core functions of the Trade Union organization, which is to represent and protect the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers.

Grassroots trade unions participate in building legal policies related to workers, building content and regulations of agencies and enterprises, ensuring grassroots democracy.

In addition, grassroots trade unions propagate and mobilize union members and workers to properly implement the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws, and actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, especially movements of a specific nature launched by trade unions.
