Hanoi establishes 31 grassroots trade unions.

On the morning of August 21st, the Hanoi City Federation of Labor (Hanoi City Federation of Labor) held a conference to announce the decision to establish grassroots trade unions.

According to the decision, the Hanoi City Federation of Labor Unions established 31 affiliated grassroots trade unions with 1,646 members.

Local trade unions have legal personality, are entitled to use their own seals, and can open bank accounts; they perform their duties and exercise their powers as prescribed by law and the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union.

Speaking at the conference, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Hanoi City Federation of Labor, Le Dinh Hung, provided a brief update on the activities of the Hanoi Labor Union after the restructuring; and affirmed that the Hanoi City Federation of Labor will always stand alongside grassroots labor unions in implementing the tasks of the Labor Union at the local level.

The leaders of the Hanoi City Federation of Labor Unions requested that newly established grassroots trade unions focus on effectively fulfilling the core functions of the trade union organization, which is to represent and protect the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers.

Local trade unions participate in the development of policies and laws related to workers, the creation of content and regulations for agencies and enterprises, and the assurance of grassroots democracy.

In addition, grassroots trade unions propagate and mobilize union members and workers to effectively implement the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws, and actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, especially those with specific characteristics launched by the Trade Union organization.
