HAGL misses out on a victory at home.

(NLĐO) - Despite taking advantage of their home ground to dominate Hai Phong, Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) Club was still held to a 0-0 draw in Round 20 of the V-League 2025-2026 on the evening of April 24.

HAGL hosted Hai Phong with the determination to win and secure their survival in the league. Despite being considered the underdog in terms of skill, the team owned by bầu Đức confidently deployed an attacking style of play, constantly besieging goalkeeper Đình Triệu's goal.

Despite creating numerous diverse and dangerous attacking opportunities, HAGL failed to capitalize on their chances to convert them into goals. Besides three unlucky shots hitting the post of Hai Phong FC's goal, inaccurate finishing from HAGL's strikers resulted in a disappointing loss of victory.

Goalkeeper Trung Kien shared: "Against a strong team like Hai Phong, the whole team played with determination but missed many scoring opportunities. Getting one point against a strong team at home is a somewhat acceptable result, and HAGL will try and focus to achieve the best possible results in the remainder of the season."

With the draw at Pleiku Arena, HAGL remains in 11th place, 2 points ahead of Thanh Hoa but having played one more match. Meanwhile, Hai Phong risks dropping out of the top 5 after round 20, as they are only 1 point ahead of the chasing pack.
