Gia Lai's Pleiku Stadium was almost full, but spectators gradually left from the 66th minute when HAGL lost 0-3 to Hanoi Police in Round 2 of the V-League 2023-2024 on the afternoon of October 28th.

Goals: Tan Tai 6', Viet Anh 53', Success 66'.

Pleiku Stadium opened its doors to the public for free to watch the match in the second round of the V-League 2023-2024. At the same time, HAGL held a memorial service for assistant coach Duong Minh Ninh, striker Paollo Oliveira, and doctor Dao Trong Tri, who tragically died in a traffic accident on August 12th.

However, on this special day, the home team's performance did not meet the fans' expectations.

In the 6th minute, HAGL conceded a goal. Geovane Magno passed the ball from the left wing to the right wing for Van Thanh. After a few touches, the defender backheeled the ball perfectly to Ho Tan Tai, who then fired a low diagonal shot to open the scoring. CAHN's attacking pressure increased, but Fialho Janio, Geovane Magno, Vu Van Thanh, and Bui Hoang Viet Anh all missed opportunities in the first half.

It wasn't until the 23rd minute that HAGL had their first chance when Chau Ngoc Quang crossed from the right wing, but Dinh Thanh Binh's header was poor and missed. At the beginning of the second half, another opportunity went to waste when Pape Diakite's close-range header was inaccurate.

After a few moments of lapses in concentration, CAHN gradually stabilized. In the 49th minute, during a corner kick attack, Bui Hoang Viet Anh struck a dangerous shot that hit the crossbar. However, he didn't have to regret it for long, as in a similar situation four minutes later, Viet Anh put his name on the scoreboard.

With their attack struggling, HAGL's defense continued to make mistakes in the 66th minute. Jairo Filho made a risky control of the ball in his own half and lost possession when a CAHN player pressed him. Raphael Success seized the opportunity, dribbled into the penalty area, and finished to seal the 3-0 victory.

The victory propelled CAHN to second place in the table with four points, while HAGL remained in tenth place with one point.
