Two brothers drowned and died.

On the morning of June 29th, Mr. Le Van Hiep, Chairman of the People's Committee of Duc Dong commune (Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh province), reported that two brothers had drowned in the area.

According to initial information, at approximately 5 PM on June 28th, NTAK (born in 2021) and NTB (born in 2013, a 7th-grade student), both residing in Thanh Phuc village, Duc Dong commune, were passing through the Ngan Truoi canal area within Thanh Phuc village.

While crossing the canal, NTAK went down to the canal steps to wash his feet and fell. Seeing his younger brother fall, NTB jumped into the canal to save him but was swept away by the current.

Immediately after receiving the report, local authorities, law enforcement agencies, and residents launched a search.

At approximately 8:30 PM that same day, the bodies of the two victims were discovered in the Rú Mịn culvert area, Đức Đồng commune, hundreds of meters from the scene of the incident.

After completing the necessary procedures, the authorities handed over the bodies of the two victims to their families for burial according to local customs.

At the time of the incident, the canal had a water depth of about 2 to over 3 meters, with a strong current flowing towards the fields to irrigate the summer-autumn rice crop.
