Two brothers drowned and died

On the morning of June 29, Mr. Le Van Hiep, Chairman of the People's Committee of Duc Dong Commune (Duc Tho District, Ha Tinh Province) said that an incident had just occurred in the area where two brothers drowned and died.

According to initial information, at around 5:00 p.m. on June 28, NTAK (born in 2021) and NTB (born in 2013, grade 7), both residing in Thanh Phuc village, Duc Dong commune, passed through the Ngan Truoi canal area in Thanh Phuc village.

While crossing the canal, NTAK went down the steps to wash his feet and fell. Seeing his brother fall, NTB jumped into the canal to save him but was swept away by the current.

Immediately after receiving the news, local authorities, functional forces and people searched.

At about 8:30 p.m. the same day, the bodies of the two victims were discovered at Ru Min culvert, Duc Dong commune, hundreds of meters from the scene.

After completing the procedures, the authorities handed over the bodies of the two victims to their families to take home for burial according to local customs.

At the time of the incident, the canal had water about 2 to more than 3 meters deep, flowing strongly to the fields to serve irrigation for summer-autumn rice production.
