Vietnam Airlines operates nearly 300 flights.
Vietnam Airlines has added 60,000 seats for nearly 300 flights, focusing on the peak period from February 9th to March 3rd, 2026 (from the 22nd day of the 12th lunar month to the 15th day of the 1st lunar month), to serve the travel, visiting relatives, and spring holiday needs of passengers nationwide.

Vietnam Airlines has made available an additional 60,000 seats for nearly 300 flights.
The routes with increased capacity in this phase mainly originate from Ho Chi Minh City, including Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi , Vinh, Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Da Nang, Hue, Chu Lai, Buon Me Thuot, Pleiku, Tuy Hoa, Quy Nhon, and Phu Quoc.
In addition, Vietnam Airlines has also launched four more routes departing from Hai Phong, including: Hai Phong – Nha Trang, Can Tho , Buon Ma Thuot, and Phu Quoc, contributing to meeting the diverse travel needs of passengers and reducing pressure on main routes during the peak Tet holiday season.
The proactive increase in supply capacity in a short period demonstrates Vietnam Airlines' readiness in terms of resources, operational capacity, and high-demand service spirit, aiming to ensure safe, convenient, and smooth travel for passengers during the Lunar New Year of the Horse.
The national airline also encourages people to use biometric technology during check-in to shorten wait times. Passengers who have completed online or biometric check-in and do not have checked baggage can proceed directly to the security screening area, helping to reduce congestion at the airport during peak hours.
Vietravel Airlines launches new routes.
According to the plan, in addition to its existing routes, Vietravel Airlines will open a new route from Ho Chi Minh City to Vinh starting February 1, 2026, marking the airline's first route to the North Central region. This route will operate with high frequency during the Tet holiday, with 3 flights per day in both directions.
Therefore, during the peak period of the Lunar New Year, the airline plans to operate 6 to 8 flights per day on the Ho Chi Minh City – Hanoi route, 3 flights per day on the Ho Chi Minh City – Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City – Vinh routes, and 2 flights per day on the Ho Chi Minh City – Quy Nhon route.
Simultaneously, this private airline continues to maintain key tourist routes from Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok, Phu Quoc, and the Hanoi-Da Nang route. The airline is also ready to increase night flights when operational resources permit in order to supplement capacity during peak seasons.
Vietravel Airlines announced that it is implementing a plan to supplement its workforce to serve the peak Tet Lunar New Year 2026 season, focusing on recruiting positions related to operations, services, and management. The airline is reportedly recruiting flight attendants to proactively secure personnel for operational plans and expand commercial activities during the peak period.
Bamboo Airways and Vietjet add aircraft to their fleet.

To meet the increased travel demand during the Lunar New Year holiday, Vietjet has also welcomed three A321neo aircraft in quick succession.
Not to be left out of the race, Vietjet also welcomed three new A321neo aircraft in the early days of 2026. This is considered part of the airline's plan to add 22 new aircraft to serve the peak Tet holiday season. Previously, the airline also put into operation four wet-lease aircraft (a form of leasing the entire aircraft package including aircraft, pilots, flight attendants, maintenance services and insurance…) to enhance its transport capacity.
Meanwhile, Bamboo Airways also noted positive signs as the number of passengers booking Tet holiday tickets increased rapidly early on, with many routes from Ho Chi Minh City to Thanh Hoa, Vinh, and Quy Nhon almost fully booked. According to Mr. Truong Phuong Thanh, General Director of Bamboo Airways, the airline expects to increase its capacity by 16% across its entire domestic flight network.
Besides restoring key routes such as Ho Chi Minh City - Vinh, Thanh Hoa, and Hai Phong, Bamboo Airways is also in the process of leasing more aircraft to strengthen its resources under the management of FLC Group.
Many routes are already fully booked.
According to assessments by domestic airlines, this year's Tet holiday market shows positive signs in terms of demand and commercial performance. As of January 12th, Vietravel Airlines' bookings have grown strongly, especially during the period from February 14th to 22nd. On the Ho Chi Minh City – Quy Nhon and Ho Chi Minh City – Vinh routes, the occupancy rate has nearly reached 100%, with many days having no seats available. Main routes such as Ho Chi Minh City – Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City – Da Nang also achieved seat occupancy rates above 70% early on.
Thanks to proactively preparing for the peak Tet holiday season, Vietravel Airlines' ticket prices remain competitive compared to the same period last year. Specifically, the Ho Chi Minh City – Hanoi route has seen prices approximately 5 to 10% lower than during Tet 2025. Furthermore, to stimulate demand for flights from the North and Central regions to the South for Tet, the airline is offering tickets from just 1,000 VND (excluding taxes and fees). This price applies to flights from Hanoi, Vinh, Quy Nhon, and Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City between February 5th and February 15th, with seats currently available for purchase on the airline's official website.
During peak periods, airlines recommend that passengers proactively plan and book tickets early through their websites, mobile apps, or official travel agencies. Passengers are also encouraged to check in online at least 24 hours in advance via websites, apps, VNeID, call centers, or airport check-in kiosks to save time.
