On September 28, the French news agency AFP confirmed that it had been subjected to a cyberattack, affecting part of its news delivery system for clients.
In a statement, AFP said that after discovering the attack on September 27, AFP's technical teams were dealing with the incident with the support of the French National Agency for Information Technology Security (ANSSI).
While analyzing and addressing the issue, the agency affirmed that AFP's newsroom and all its services continue to provide coverage worldwide .
AFP has notified French authorities, but the motive and perpetrators behind the cyberattack are currently unknown.
