On September 28, French news agency AFP confirmed that it had been attacked by a cyberattack, affecting part of its news delivery system to customers.
In a statement, AFP said that after discovering the attack on September 27, AFP technical teams were handling the incident with the support of France's National Agency for Information Technology Systems Security (ANSSI).
While the incident is being analysed and resolved, the agency affirms that AFP newsrooms and all its services continue to report news worldwide .
AFP has informed French authorities, but it is not yet known what motivated or who was behind the cyber attack.
