The "Touch" journey of Quaver Band

As summer begins, when most students temporarily set aside their stressful studies, a group of young people in Tam Ky choose to create their own playground with music. Quaver Band – a student band formed about two years ago – and their concert, "TOUCH," are proof of a unique and individualistic youth entertainment space.

Quaver Band wasn't born from a professional art project, nor did it have a grand support team. It all started from the passion of Minh Duc, a student at Phan Boi Chau High School (Tam Ky). With his guitar and a desire to perform on stage, from gatherings where he shared his love of music with friends, Duc nurtured the idea of forming a student band.

Instead of waiting for opportunities to come knocking, Duc created them himself. He planned, selected members, scheduled rehearsals, and even took on the role of unofficial music producer for the group. All of this stemmed from a clear desire: to create a performance space for students – a place where young people could learn, express themselves, and grow through music.

To turn the "TOUCH" concept into reality, Duc teamed up with Thuy Phuong – a dynamic student from Nguyen Binh Khiem Specialized High School (Tam Ky). Phuong was the project's "communication mastermind," shaping the brand identity for the concert, building social media content, and especially possessing excellent community networking skills. Thanks to a well-planned communication campaign, in 2024, "TOUCH" became a major event attracting young people in Tam Ky.

For Quaver Band, music is more than just an extracurricular activity. It's a means of communication, a way to relieve school stress, and a way for young people to define themselves. In the space of "TOUCH," the audience not only listens to music but also lives in the emotions, "touching" the inner world of young souls searching for their own path.

"TOUCH" - the program's name itself is an invitation for listeners to open their hearts to emotions, so that songs carrying genuine feelings can get closer to their hearts. The Quaver group believes that music can soothe sadness, heal anxieties – and, if there is enough faith, it can change a person completely.

Many young people who joined Quaver Band admit that music helped them overcome psychological crises during their school years, cultivate patience, teamwork skills, and confidence in front of crowds. The support from family, encouragement from teachers, and companionship from friends have created a strong network behind the success of "TOUCH".

In the first season of TOUCH, young people got to hear familiar love songs reimagined with sophisticated arrangements, skillful performance techniques, and compelling expressions. Notably, the performances included songs composed by the members themselves, showcasing the group's unique personality and style.

That success has further motivated Quaver Band to prepare for CHẠM Season 2 (taking place tonight, May 30th, at 127 Le Loi Street, Tam Ky City). Still featuring familiar faces, but with more experience, this student band from Tam Ky is proving how they maintain and develop their passion into a unique and distinctive platform.
