Quaver Band was not born from a professional art project, nor did it have a large supporting team. Everything started from the passion of Minh Duc - a student at Phan Boi Chau High School (Tam Ky). With a guitar and the desire to stand on stage, from gatherings to share musical interests with friends, Duc nurtured the idea of forming a student music group.
Instead of waiting for opportunity to knock on the door, Duc created it himself. He was the one who planned, recruited members, scheduled rehearsals, and even took on the role of unofficial music producer for the group. All of this stemmed from a clear desire: to create a performance space for students - a place where young people could learn, express themselves, and grow through music.
To turn the idea of “TOUCH” into reality, Duc joined hands with Thuy Phuong – a dynamic female student from Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted (Tam Ky). Phuong is the “media brain” of the project, the person who shaped the identity for the music night, built social media content and especially has the ability to create extremely good community connections. Thanks to a meticulous media campaign, in 2024, “TOUCH” became an event that attracted young people in Tam Ky.

For Quaver Band, music is not simply an extracurricular activity. It is a means of communication, a way to relieve school pressure and also a way for young people to define themselves. In the space of “TOUCH”, the audience not only listens to music, but also lives in emotions, “touches” the inner world of young souls who are finding their own way.
“TOUCH” - the name of the show is also an invitation for listeners to open their hearts to receive emotions, so that songs carrying sincere feelings can reach closer to the heart. The Quaver group believes that music can soothe sadness, heal anxiety - and if you believe enough, it can change a person.
Many young people participating in Quaver Band admit that music has helped them overcome psychological crises of their school years, practice patience, teamwork and confidence when facing a crowd. It is the support from family, the encouragement of teachers and the companionship of friends that has created a sustainable network behind the success of “CHÂM”.
In CHÂM season 1, young people get to listen to familiar love songs remade with sophisticated arrangements, solid performance techniques and convincing expressions. Notably, the performance of songs composed by the members themselves shows the group's personality and uniqueness.
That success has given Quaver Band more motivation to prepare for CHAM season 2 (taking place tonight, May 30 at 127 Le Loi, Tam Ky City). Still familiar faces, but with more experience, the student band from Tam Ky is proving how they maintain and develop their passion into a unique playground.
