The new edition of Saigon Liberation Newspaper did not start from scratch. It is a continuation of a 51-year journey of persistent service to the Fatherland and the people, since the first issue was published on May 5, 1975, just 5 days after the liberation of Saigon.

Bearing that name, the Saigon Liberation Newspaper, from its inception to the present day, has consistently fulfilled its mission of disseminating the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and regulations; truthfully reflecting the life of the country and the city; promoting what is right and beautiful, and new elements; persistently fighting against negative manifestations; contributing to strengthening social trust and inspiring the aspiration for development.

On the occasion of the 101st anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2026), General Secretary and President To Lam wrote an important article titled " Vietnam's Revolutionary Press in the Digital Age." The article not only acknowledges the glorious journey of the revolutionary press but also provides direction for development in the new phase, setting the need to redefine the role and mission of the press in the face of the new demands of the era. General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that the revolutionary press must develop in a professional, humane, and modern direction; mastering technology but without deviating from its revolutionary nature and the core values of journalism.
