In mid-May, Lai Chau Power Company completed the connection of the national power grid to two villages, Tia Ma Mu (Ta Tong commune) and Huoi Dao (Muong Mo commune), marking another step forward in bringing electricity to the province's disadvantaged areas. To date, only Huoi Linh village in Muong Mo commune – home to the Mong ethnic minority, with its rugged terrain and difficult access – remains without national grid electricity. However, the dream of electricity for the people there is very close as the project's components are nearing completion. Nam Hang Power Company, in coordination with the construction unit, installed 86 meters and provided free labor for wiring after the meters and completing the in-house electrical systems for the residents. All conditions are now ready for the national electricity grid to soon illuminate Huoi Linh.

Leaders from the Department of Industry and Trade, Lai Chau Power Company, and residents of Tia Ma Mu village, Ta Tong commune, share their joy at having electricity.
Mr. Tran Van Toan, Head of Nam Hang Power Company, said: Following the direction of the Board of Directors of Lai Chau Power Company, the unit has mobilized its staff and workers to focus on supporting the installation of electricity systems for households in Huoi Linh village. To date, the unit has completed more than 110 man-days of work, with a total support value of approximately 40 million VND, including pulling wires after the meter, installing electrical panels, light bulbs, and essential electrical equipment in each household. Despite the difficult terrain, the unit is still striving to accelerate the progress and is determined to complete the remaining tasks so that the people of Huoi Linh can soon use the national power grid, contributing to improving their quality of life and economic development.

Electricity company officials are bringing electricity to households in Huoi Linh village.
Bringing electricity from the national grid to the most remote villages of Lai Chau province has been a long and arduous process, requiring the province's and the electricity sector's efforts. A significant milestone stemmed from the decisive leadership of the provincial leaders, headed by the Provincial Party Secretary, during working sessions with the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN). Based on a high level of consensus, EVN approved the plan and assigned the Northern Power Corporation to invest in providing electricity to three particularly disadvantaged villages: Huoi Dao, Huoi Linh (Muong Mo commune), and Tia Ma Mu (Ta Tong commune), with a total budget of over 32.5 billion VND. This decision not only opened up opportunities for hundreds of households to access electricity but also created momentum for socio-economic development in these challenging areas.

Efforts are underway to bring electricity to Huoi Linh village, Muong Mo commune.
According to Mr. Vo Manh Hong, Deputy Director of Lai Chau Power Company, immediately after the project was approved, the company promptly implemented many comprehensive solutions to accelerate progress. The unit proactively coordinated with the Department of Industry and Trade and the Land Development Center to carry out land clearance; and simultaneously coordinated with local authorities to disseminate information and mobilize public support, creating favorable conditions for construction. On the construction site, officials from the investor, supervisory consultants, and operation management units constantly monitored the site to promptly resolve any arising difficulties. Given the harsh weather conditions of the rainy season in the highlands, the company directed contractors to proactively gather materials and equipment early, flexibly deploying personnel and construction vehicles according to the motto "overcoming the sun and rain," taking advantage of sunny days to accelerate progress, determined to bring national electricity to the last remaining villages without electricity.
The tireless efforts of the Party committee, the government, and the electricity sector have brought overwhelming joy to the people of Huoi Dao village. For many years, life here was intertwined with the flickering light of oil lamps, and the education of children, daily life, and access to information were all difficult. Now, with the national power grid illuminating every house, the village has taken on a new appearance. Electricity not only dispels the darkness in the highlands but also opens up opportunities for development, helping people access knowledge, apply science and technology to production, and gradually improve their quality of life.

Vietnam encourages US businesses to expand investment in high technology. On the morning of June 26th, at the Government Headquarters, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung received Mr. Jeff Place, Supply Chain Director of Coherent Group (USA). During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam encourages US businesses to expand investment, especially in high-tech, innovation, and semiconductor industries. Thanks to electricity, the people of Huoi Dao village, Muong Mo commune, have been able to buy many electrical appliances to support production.
Mr. Giàng A Chu, Head of Huổi Dạo village, Mường Mô commune, shared: “Previously, the people here faced many hardships, lacking basic necessities due to the lack of electricity. Now, thanks to the Party, the State, and the electricity sector, electricity has been brought to the village, and everyone is happy and excited. With electricity, our children can study better, people have more convenience in their daily lives, and we have even more confidence to develop the economy and build a more prosperous life.”
Bringing the national power grid to the last remaining villages without electricity is not just about completing an infrastructure project, but also about realizing the Party and State's policy on ensuring social security. This achievement is the culmination of political determination from the provincial to the grassroots level, the attention of the electricity sector, and especially the proactive and responsible efforts of Lai Chau Power Company in mobilizing all resources and overcoming difficulties in terrain and weather to bring electricity to the people in the highlands. Each completed project not only illuminates homes but also creates a foundation for socio-economic development, strengthens national defense and security, and contributes to realizing the goal of rapid, sustainable development and ensuring that no one is left behind.
