On the morning of March 20th, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Lam officially announced the launch of the photo and video contest "Happy Vietnam 2024".
The 2024 competition is being held for the second time, aiming to discover and celebrate meaningful moments and stories in all aspects of political , economic, cultural, and social life through photographs and videos. This aims to affirm achievements in socio-economic development and international integration, thereby highlighting achievements in the field of human rights protection in Vietnam over the past years.
"The competition was first launched in 2023 and has achieved impressive success, receiving widespread acceptance and high praise from the public both domestically and internationally. This year's competition is one of the key activities in the Ministry of Information and Communications' human rights communication plan for 2024. After the competition, the Organizing Committee will select the best works to award prizes, and over 100 works that reach the final round will be selected for exhibition to serve human rights communication efforts both domestically and internationally in the near future," Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Lam said.
According to the organizers, since 2023, the competition has been held annually, is open to the public, and is launched nationwide to attract participation from a large number of authors across the country. Authors, both professional and amateur, Vietnamese and foreign, residing in Vietnam or abroad, are all eligible to participate.
The competition aims to discover and celebrate meaningful moments and stories from all aspects of Vietnam's political, economic, cultural, and social life through photographic and video works submitted by domestic and international authors, vividly affirming Vietnam's achievements in the field of human rights.
At the same time, we must mobilize the combined strength of all strata of people at home, the Vietnamese community abroad, and international friends in the communication and promotion of the image of Vietnam and its people to the world, affirming to the world that Vietnam is a peaceful, beautiful, dynamically developing, and happy country.

- The submission period for entries is from March 20, 2024 to August 20, 2024.

Criteria for submitted entries
- It has high promotional value for showcasing the image of Vietnam, its people, cultural values, and natural beauty throughout the country; it awakens national pride and aspirations for development in all segments of the population, encouraging them to work together to build a more prosperous, thriving, and happy Vietnam.
- It authentically and vividly reflects the achievements in all aspects of Vietnam's political, economic, cultural, and social life, especially in the process of reform, development, and international integration.
- It conveys valuable knowledge, attracts strong public interest, and has a wide-ranging impact both domestically and internationally.
- The artwork must have been created between January 1, 2022, and the date of submission, and must not have been previously submitted to or won any awards at any competitions or exhibitions.
Prize structure
Each competition category has the following prizes and prize values:
- 1 Gold Medal: 70,000,000 VND
- 2 Silver Medals: 20,000,000 VND
- 3 Bronze Medals: 10,000,000 VND
- 10 Consolation Prizes: 5,000,000 VND
- The most voted-for entry: 5,000,000 VND
