Holding hands with his girlfriend Vu Quynh Anh, a student at the Academy of Public Administration and Management, Nguyen Hoang Long, a cadet at the Army Officer School 1, and his lover let their hearts wander to the melodies of traditional love songs. The young couple received enthusiastic applause and praise from tourists near and far.

This is one of the beautiful memories from their trip together during the recent Lunar New Year. According to Quynh Anh, during the 2023 Lunar New Year holiday, she went home to help her parents decorate the house and shop for groceries. That day, after wandering through the streets and choosing a beautiful five-petaled peach blossom branch, she brought it home and tried her hand at arranging the flowers, placing it in a prominent position and taking pictures to post on Facebook to show off to her friends. A few minutes later, the post received many complimentary comments, including a friend request with a rather special comment from a stranger.

Curious about the owner of that comment, Quynh Anh went to his profile and saw a profile picture of a handsome, scholarly-looking young man in military uniform. She noticed that he had a mutual friend from high school, so she felt confident and accepted his friend request.

In the following days, Hoang Long took the initiative to strike up conversations, get acquainted, introduce himself, and they both discovered they were from the same hometown in Lao Cai , only about 30km apart—he lived in Lao Cai city, while she lived in the dreamy, peaceful town of Sa Pa.

Taking advantage of their last few days off before returning to school, they decided to meet in person. At a tea shop in the town center, the future officer arrived early, subtly choosing a cozy corner, romantically decorated, and placing a bouquet of deep red roses on the table. While still picturing the girl he was about to meet, he was startled by a gentle voice greeting the staff at the door. Looking out, Hoang Long froze at the sight of the girl in the white dress, her radiant smile captivating. They exchanged a few awkward glances before Quynh Anh gracefully sat down in the seat Hoang Long had chosen.

After that first meeting, they understood each other better and realized many similarities. Handwritten letters exchanged, sharing stories of everyday life and encouraging each other in their studies, gradually became a bridge of love between the two young people. During the summer break, Hoang Long went to Quynh Anh's house to ask her parents' permission to take her on a trip. While conquering Fansipan peak together—where the clouds and sky merge—Hoang Long gave her a pair of engagement rings and gently proposed:
- Will you be my girlfriend?

In response to his heartfelt declaration of love, Quynh Anh took his hand as a sign of acceptance and promised to create beautiful memories together, filled with love and sharing.
