Dong Thien Duc (real name Dang Huu Duc) said that the success of "Tomorrow Someone Will Get Married" was beyond his imagination.

Like everyone else, when introducing a musical product to the audience, he hoped it would be a hit. But he never imagined it could become a song played everywhere as it is now.

He said, "When I released this song, I thought, if it doesn't become a hit by the end of the year, I'll just hibernate. Because I'm so incredibly passionate about this song. But luckily, it's been loved so much."

Dong Thien Duc admitted that he has been involved in songwriting for 13 years and that there have been many times when he felt very "down" because of the rumors circulating in the public.

He confided, "I don't understand why my neighbors are so idle as to fabricate such terrible stories about my life. Seeing that I just stay at home but have a decent house and car, they say my wife and I got rich by selling drugs?"

It's understandable that the neighbors are suspicious because, until now, no one knew that the "Duc 'the fish' guy they knew and the musician Dong Thien Duc, whom everyone has been calling by that name recently, are the same person," shared musician Dong Thien Duc.

He said he hated the glitz and glamour of showbiz.

Duc said that he had been good at literature since he was a child and also had a talent for music. He started composing music in middle school. However, Duc's future goal is to become the CEO of a network management company because "I'm very good at information technology."

Then, he founded a software company as he had wished. It just wasn't as successful as he had hoped.

After his failure, he brought his wife and children back to Binh Duong to live. To support his family, Duc did all sorts of jobs, from selling fish every afternoon to acting in films. He did it all. But people still called him Duc "the fish seller" because every afternoon they would see him and his wife carrying their catch to the market intersection to make a living.

But his passion for writing music remains. Every night is the time he dedicates to his songwriting because "night is when I feel relaxed and not preoccupied with the worries of making a living."

To date, Dong Thien Duc boasts that he "has over 200 works. Each quarter, he receives approximately 200 million VND in royalties from the Copyright Protection Center."

"It's normal for a song to sell for 40-50 million VND. But, there are some songs that I have to spend more than a month writing, so singers usually pay me around 150 to 200 million VND per song," the songwriter boasted.

He might wear the same suit for five years and never buy new shoes for 1 million VND because it's unnecessary.

With this very stable income, Dong Thien Duc enjoys a comfortable and contented life. He said that because he has three children, he has also bought three houses as dowry.

Once he finishes paying off the mortgage on this third house, he will dedicate time to himself. That includes fulfilling his wish to take his wife on trips around the world.

He said, "I don't socialize much with people in that circle because I don't have the money to spend on such things. If someone treats me to 5-7 meals, I have to treat them back 2-3 times. Every time I have to pay them, I think to myself, 'Oh no, that amount of money could buy milk for my child for a whole month.' So, I avoid socializing with them altogether."

The balance of emotion and reason helped Dong Thien Duc achieve many successes.

Dong Thien Duc's music is loved for its poetic lyrics and gentle melodies. Duc says, "Because I love literature and poetry, and I also want to release quality products like the older generations did."
