Every year, the province consistently focuses on nurturing and promoting the role of women in the political , economic, cultural, and social fields. Gender equality initiatives are integrated into socio-economic development plans, creating initial conditions for both men and women to exercise their rights and achieve equality in all aspects of socio-economic life. This has led to positive changes in people's awareness, especially regarding gender equality.

It can be affirmed that today, women in An Giang participate in all fields of the economy , culture, society, and politics. The team of female cadres from the provincial to the grassroots level is increasingly making positive contributions in leadership and management, and has more opportunities to exercise equality through participation in the development and implementation of laws and policies, meeting the needs and interests of women. Many Party and state management agencies at all levels now have young female leaders. This is thanks to the planning, training, and placement of female cadres, civil servants, and public employees, which have been given attention by leaders of agencies, units, and localities. Currently, the team of female leaders and managers in agencies and units, especially at the deputy department head level, is quite abundant and has good development prospects.
In building a cultural life and a happy family, women play a crucial role in harmoniously resolving social and family relationships, continuing to be the core force in protecting the family home. In their various roles and living environments, women are always given opportunities to advance and improve their skills and abilities in all aspects to build happy families, while also fulfilling their responsibilities as citizens to society.
According to the Provincial People's Committee, thanks to efforts in implementation, the province has achieved targets regarding: the percentage of the population with access to basic knowledge about gender equality, the employment rate, and the percentage of victims of domestic violence and gender-based violence who have access to at least one basic support service... all at high rates. Gender equality work has been implemented comprehensively across the main areas of politics, economics, labor, education, training, and health.
The prevention and response to gender-based violence have been quite effective. The province has developed a model of "Preventing and mitigating the harm of gender-based violence" in communes and wards such as Cho Moi, An Phu, Tri Ton, and Tinh Bien to reduce the occurrence of violence. All citizens have raised their awareness of gender equality, working together to build happy, progressive, and equal families. The model of reliable addresses - temporary shelters - has been replicated in new rural communes; clubs for "Sustainable Family Development" have been established. The functions and tasks of the hotline for preventing and combating human trafficking and gender-based violence (18008077) have been publicized; and the "Sunshine House" model, supporting women and girls who have experienced violence in An Giang province, has been inaugurated.
For Project 8, "Implementing Gender Equality and Addressing Urgent Issues for Women and Children," the province established a "Leaders of Change" club, opened gender-integrated training courses for village officials, religious leaders, and influential community members. It organized policy dialogues and disseminated information to officials, members, and ethnic minority women. Two "Community Trust Address" models were launched; coordination with the Family and Social Affairs Committee and the Vietnam Women's Union resulted in thematic communication on preventing and combating domestic violence; and communication was conducted for young men and women, and young families in ethnic minority areas…
Every year, the province implements activities for the Month of Action for Gender Equality and Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence (from November 15th to December 15th) to promote gender equality and eliminate gender-based violence. The province innovates and improves the quality of communication through mass media; promptly conveying the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws to the people, contributing to raising awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors, and society as a whole regarding gender equality.
