"With Manchester United currently sitting sixth in the Premier League, the club's management has reluctantly decided that this is the right time to make a change on the coaching staff," the message from Man United read. "This will give the team the best possible chance of achieving the highest possible position in the Premier League."
"The club would like to thank Ruben Amorim for his contributions to the club and wish him all the best in the future."
This was inevitable given what's been happening with Amorim. On Friday, Amorim hinted that his relationship with club officials was strained – suggesting he wouldn't receive adequate support in the transfer market. Following Sunday's 1-1 draw with Leeds, the Portuguese manager continued to criticize senior figures at the club.

Amorim declared he wanted to be a manager, "not a coach." He even stated he was ready to leave when his contract expired in 18 months. And true to his "wishes," less than 24 hours later, MU announced that Amorim had left his position as head coach, ending his 14-month tenure. Amorim's coaching staff also left the team immediately.
The 40-year-old manager was appointed in November 2024. He hasn't delivered many positive results. Amorim has only won 25 out of 63 games in charge of the Red Devils, a mere 40% win rate.
Amorim's 14 months was the shortest tenure of a permanent manager at MU since David Moyes, who was sacked after just 8 months in 2014. Thus, in the 13 years since Sir Alex Ferguson's departure, MU has sacked 10 managers: Moyes, Giggs, Van Gaal, Mourinho, Solskjaer, Carrick, Rangnick, Ten Hag, Van Nistelrooy, and Amorim.
