In a press release, Bao Ngoc confirmed that her acceptance into the Master's program in Environmental Science and Policy at the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) of Columbia University was accurate. The entire application, selection, and related academic process was conducted according to the university's official procedures.
According to Bao Ngoc, in her initial application letter for the 2026 summer intake, she received a financial aid grant of $15,000 under the program's current selection policy.

However, since Bảo Ngọc had already planned to participate in Miss World 2026, she proactively requested to adjust her enrollment date to 2027, which was approved by the school. This means that the financial aid conditions recorded at the time of enrollment in 2026 will be reviewed by the school when Bảo Ngọc enrolls.
"To be honest in the process of posting the notification, the admin managing Bao Ngoc's fanpage used AI to assist in image processing to protect information."
During the image processing by the admin, the AI tool automatically and incorrectly reproduced some characters in the text. This resulted in some details displayed in the uploaded image not reflecting the original text, including details related to the phrase 'ho tuition'.
"This was a technical error that occurred during image processing, a risk that the fanpage administrator did not foresee, due to a lack of thoroughness in cross-referencing the original document before publicizing it. Bao Ngoc would like to affirm that no individual intentionally edited the content of the admission letter with the purpose of changing information, falsifying admission results, or creating images that differ from the actual content of the document sent by the school," Bao Ngoc emphasized.
Regarding the information related to the scholarship amount, Bao Ngoc affirmed that the decision not to fully display the financial support information in the initial post was not intended to create the impression that she received a full scholarship, was exempted from all tuition fees, or received a larger amount of support than actually received.
The reason Bao Ngoc chose not to fully disclose this information is because the $15,000 financial aid is only tied to the 2026 intake. The aid will be reviewed by the school and will no longer be a guaranteed condition once the intake date is moved to 2027.
“After discovering the error, Bao Ngoc immediately checked all the relevant information and proactively removed the content to avoid further unnecessary misunderstandings. As the person directly sharing the information with the public, Bao Ngoc takes responsibility for this oversight and sincerely apologizes to the audience who have shown concern and provided feedback,” the beauty queen added.
Previously, Miss Bao Ngoc shared on social media the announcement that she had been accepted into a master's program in Environmental Science and Policy at the School of International Relations and Public Service (SIPA), Columbia University (USA).
The post quickly attracted the attention of netizens. However, some people noticed several unusual details in the acceptance letter that Bao Ngoc posted. Specifically, the phrase "no tuition" was written as "ho tuition"; the name of the program director, Dr. Steven Cohen, was also displayed as "Steve Cohen". Many commented that these are rare errors in the official documents of a prestigious university.
Furthermore, the content of the letter was also deemed inconsistent. The beginning stated that the recipient was invited to enroll in a Master's program in Public Administration specializing in Environmental Science and Policy, but the end of the letter mentioned that the student would receive in-depth training in economic policy.
Later, Bao Ngoc updated the post, replacing the original image with a different invitation letter, which included information that she received a scholarship worth $15,000 .
By noon on June 23rd, Miss Bao Ngoc officially responded to the suspicions surrounding her acceptance letter. She affirmed that the document shared was an admission letter issued by Columbia University and that the information about the school, the training program, and the admission results remained unchanged from the original document.
The beauty queen stated that during the process of preparing the images for public posting, the team concealed some personal information and data that needed to be kept confidential to ensure privacy. According to Bao Ngoc, this method of image processing led to misunderstandings and concerns from the public.
