Providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities
She used to have a peaceful life with days of working to take care of her family, but a work accident three years ago caused Ms. Chu Thi Bang, in Hoa Tien 2 hamlet (Duc Luong commune) to lose an arm. With determination and resilience, Ms. Bang continues to work and keep hope.
In early 2025, an opportunity opened up when Ms. Bang was accepted by Kien Thai Nguyen Tea Cooperative (Duc Luong commune) to work as a customer care worker.
During the first days of using the computer, she was confused. However, thanks to everyone's enthusiastic guidance, she quickly adapted to using the mouse with her left hand, typing on the keyboard, answering and supporting customers skillfully. Ms. Chu Thi Bang shared: I never thought I would know how to use the computer to work, the work is light and suitable for me.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Kien, Director of Kien Thai Nguyen Tea Cooperative, shared: We always want to create a fair working environment where everyone, including people with disabilities (PWD), have the opportunity to develop their abilities. When receiving Ms. Chu Thi Bang, at first she was unfamiliar with the work related to computers, but with the help of everyone, she quickly adapted.
Digital skills - the "key" to success
In order to support PWDs in accessing technology, expanding learning and employment opportunities, the used computer support program implemented by the Vietnam Association for the Protection of PWDs and Orphans continues to spread profound humanitarian meaning, opening more doors to knowledge and the future for PWDs and orphans across the country.

In Thai Nguyen, in 2025, the Provincial Association for the Protection of the Disabled and Protection of Children's Rights mobilized and called on organizations, businesses, and kind-hearted people to donate 10 computers to 10 disabled people in difficult circumstances but with strong will, ability, and especially the desire to study and work through computers.
Not only stopping at donating equipment, computer support activities also aim at sustainability. That is to ensure that each person after receiving the machine is trained, equipped with sales skills and applying information technology to life, thereby maximizing the use of computers in studying, finding jobs or doing online business.
Aiming to create vocational training and sustainable employment opportunities for PWDs, the Association has actively coordinated to implement online sales training programs for PWDs, contributing to opening up suitable job opportunities in the digital age. In 2025, more than 50 PWDs participated in classes on digital technology, digital platforms, online sales, and digital skills. From there, helping PWDs become more confident in their career journey.
Through activities to support livelihoods, create jobs, and reduce poverty, the Association has mobilized over 60 people with disabilities to participate in digital transformation and digital technology training classes; supported tools, smartphones, and used computers for 20 people with disabilities to participate in classes to sell online to stabilize their lives.
Mr. Vu Van Mao, Chairman of the Association for the Protection of Disabled Persons and Protection of Children's Rights in Thai Nguyen province, said: Providing computers, coordinating online training classes and promoting digital transformation not only provides tools, but also opens doors to knowledge and job opportunities for PWDs. We hope that PWDs, when equipped with digital skills, will be more confident in studying, working and affirming their position in society. This is a journey of providing opportunities so that no one is left behind in the digital age.
