Remember in 2024, with the theme "Shining Bright with Wonders," the Ha Long Carnival, held at Ocean Park Beach, Vo Nguyen Giap Street, Bai Chay Ward, Ha Long City, left a strong and unforgettable impression on locals and tourists. For the first time, the festival featured live art performances and a carnival on the sea and on the beach, with high artistic value. The spectacular art program included the participation of many famous singers and artists from Vietnam and abroad. In particular, one of the highlights of the 2024 Ha Long Carnival was the use of drone light technology, with thousands of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) forming shapes and combining modern 3D mapping technology to depict the characteristic symbols of Ha Long - Quang Ninh .
The unexpected success of the Ha Long Carnival 2024 contributed to attracting a large number of tourists to Quang Ninh - Ha Long. As evidence, during the April 30th - May 1st holiday in 2024, Quang Ninh welcomed over 1 million tourists, including over 100,000 international visitors. Total tourism revenue reached over 2.21 trillion VND.
Following the success of previous years' Ha Long Carnivals, Quang Ninh - Ha Long is currently making thorough and meticulous preparations in all aspects, especially the content, script, and artistic program, for the important street festival that will take place at 8 PM on May 1, 2025, at Sun Carnival Square and Vo Nguyen Giap Street, Bai Chay Ward, Ha Long City.
With the theme: “Ha Long Carnival 2025 - Connecting Heritage, Pioneering and Shining,” the program consists of four parts: the opening art program; the grand Ha Long Carnival dance; DJ performances; and a high-altitude fireworks display. This year's festival has many distinctive highlights: bringing together intangible heritage from all three regions of Vietnam, honoring national identity against the backdrop of a world natural wonder combined with modern technologies such as 3D mapping, laser, and light shows. In particular, the art program features thousands of professional actors and artists, international art troupes, and artisans.
To best serve the people and tourists enjoying the Ha Long Carnival 2025, Ha Long City has directed the construction unit to design and build a grandstand with the largest capacity ever, totaling 15,000 seats, an increase of 5,000 seats compared to 2024.
To ensure the success, safety, and impressiveness of the Ha Long Carnival 2025, the Organizing Committee has coordinated with relevant agencies and units to develop detailed plans and scenarios for all aspects related to security and order, traffic safety, fire prevention and control, healthcare, maintaining a favorable tourism business environment, ensuring stable power supply, and telecommunications coverage.
To date, all preparations for the Ha Long Carnival 2025 are basically on track with the planned schedule and script. Organizing and participating units are accelerating rehearsals to deliver the most impressive, unique, and captivating performances for residents and tourists visiting Ha Long. Quang Ninh expects to attract tens of thousands of people and tourists to this spectacular festival.
