Under the scorching sun, the intense heat rising from the cement pavement made many people reluctant to go out. But amidst those harsh, hot days, the female officers of the People's Public Security Force, including the Special Police Unit and the Traffic Police Unit, continued to train diligently in preparation for the A80 event.
These "steel flowers" shared with Tien Phong newspaper reporters about their training process, their desire for calluses to prevent blisters on their feet, and their resilience while wearing their protective gear.

Nguyen Thi Hong Van, a young woman from the Mekong Delta region of Dong Thap , is currently a female officer in the Special Forces Police Unit. When she was assigned the task of distributing flags for the unit, Van didn't realize that the job would require so much stamina.
The scorching summer sun in Hanoi makes your whole body feel like it's about to fall apart. "The weather is so different from the South, and the training is intense. Each time I travel from the training ground to the practice location, it's quite tiring. But I always tell myself I have to keep going, because this is a great honor," Vân said.
Behind that tanned face and resolute eyes lies a heart overflowing with love for her family. At the end of each week, Van calls her parents. They tell her, "Hang in there, daughter, just two more months and you'll be home." Those simple words of encouragement are the silent flame that keeps her standing strong amidst the scorching sun of the training ground.

Also from the South, Nguyen Thi Yen Trang, from the Traffic Police unit, came to Hanoi for training. In the early days, the intense heat of the North left Trang exhausted many times.
"Practicing leaning in formation is incredibly physically demanding. My feet get blisters, bleed, and ache so much that I just want to sit down. But then I taught myself how to overcome it so that my feet gradually calloused, which made the pain less," Yen Trang shared.
Every day, Trang drinks lemon water to maintain her strength and stay alert. But what she remembers most isn't the painful moments, but the heartwarming moments shared with her teammates. These include sharing bandages, giving each other bottles of cool water, or simply offering a comforting pat on the shoulder when exhausted.
"It was that kind of care that touched me the most, and thanks to it, I was able to overcome it," Yen Trang shared.

As for Pham Thi Thuy Trang from Dak Lak (formerly), a female officer in the Special Police Force who had previously participated in the parade during the A50 mission, her return to A80 was a completely different experience.
"We've been through rigorous military training before, but this time it was even tougher. During some training sessions, many of us fainted from exhaustion. Even so, no one gave up," Thuy Trang shared.
Thùy Trang had to train in the heavy, hot special forces suit and travel long distances.
"It was overwhelming, exhausting, but I had to carry it to the end. The calls home in the evenings were a way for me to ease my homesickness and boost my confidence. My parents told me to keep going, to persevere, and then when I came home, they would cook my favorite dishes," Thùy Trang said happily.
Beauty on the training ground. |
Every step is precise, every gaze unwavering on the training ground is a testament to the steely spirit of female police officers in peacetime. They not only represent the image of a modern, strong, and resilient woman, but also serve as a living symbol for the younger generation, always ready to dedicate themselves to the common good.
Training under the scorching sun, overcoming minor injuries, and enduring salty sweat, these girls, along with thousands of other comrades, are silently writing an epic of youth.
Without flowery words or flashy cameras, they are fulfilling a sacred mission: contributing to a great national holiday with their own steps, filled with pride and fervent patriotism.
On the afternoon of July 9th, leaders and the Youth Union of the Mobile Police Command visited and encouraged the A80 parade and marching contingents at the A80 Command Headquarters, Hanoi National University, Hoa Lac campus, Hanoi. |
At this national-level event, nearly 6,000 People's Public Security officers were mobilized. The Ministry of Public Security assigned the Mobile Police Command (K02) to organize training for 24 parade and marching contingents. Training began on May 5th and took place at 7 locations.
