On July 19th, according to the Office II of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Venerable Thich Thien Nhon - Vice Dharma Chief of the Council of Elders, Chairman of the Executive Council - on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Executive Council and the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, announced the passing of Venerable Thich Hue Tri.
According to the obituary, Venerable Thich Hue Tri passed away at 6:00 AM on July 19th (corresponding to the 14th day of the 6th lunar month of the Year of the Dragon) at Quang Duc Zen Monastery (District 3, Ho Chi Minh City). The Venerable lived for 73 years and had 50 years of monastic life.
The coffin of Venerable Thich Hue Tri is placed at Quang Duc Zen Monastery.
The ceremony of placing the body in the coffin will take place at 8 PM on July 19th. The viewing will begin at 7 AM on July 20th. The memorial service will be held at 11 AM on July 21st.
Afterwards, the coffin of the Venerable Monk was respectfully brought to Kim Tien Ancestral Temple ( Hue City, Thua Thien Hue Province).
The funeral procession to the stupa will take place at 6:00 AM on July 25th at Kim Tien Ancestral Temple, Hue City.

The Venerable Monk was also the former Deputy Chief of Office II of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Association, and the former Head of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Association.
