Hoang Su Phi – A meeting place during the rainy season

Every year, the rainy season (late May, early June) and the rice harvest season (late September, early October) are two occasions when tourists flock to Hoang Su Phi ( Ha Giang ) to admire the magnificent terraced rice fields. During these times, visitors can admire the winding, overlapping terraced fields stretching from the stream banks to the mountain peaks, interspersed with primeval forests, ancient tea plantations, and rivers and streams, creating a harmonious and colorful natural landscape. Below are images capturing the beauty of Hoang Su Phi during the rainy season – the time when water begins to flow in, "awakening" the western region of Ha Giang after days of drought.

"The towering tree" of the village

At 76 years old, with his hair turning gray, Mr. Cao Duy U, a respected figure in Hoa Luong village, Hoa Son commune, Minh Hoa district, Quang Binh province, remains as strong and resilient as a teak or ironwood tree in the ancient forest. His voice is still clear and firm. For the past 23 years, he has been like a "great tree" of the village, sharing the joys and sorrows with his people and working together to build his homeland.
