Opening Ceremony of the 2026 Veterinary Science Conference

Attending the conference were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Tran Anh Dao – Party Secretary and Head of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoai Nam – Deputy Head of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine; leaders of departments, heads of elite, outstanding, and strong research groups, and members of research groups within the faculty.

In her opening remarks at the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Tran Anh Dao acknowledged and commended the efforts, dedication, and outstanding achievements of the research groups throughout the past period. She also emphasized that in the period 2026-2030, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine will continue to promote the development of research groups in a specialized direction, increase international publications, promote technology transfer, and connect research activities with the practical needs of society and businesses. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Tran Anh Dao also expressed her deep gratitude to all staff and lecturers for their tireless efforts in scientific research, and affirmed the central role of research groups in the sustainable development strategy and the enhancement of the academic standing of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

Continuing the program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoai Nam presented the Report summarizing the activities of strong research groups, excellent research groups, and elite research groups for the period 2020-2025. The report outlined outstanding achievements in international scientific publications, implementation of research projects at all levels, domestic and international research cooperation, as well as analyzing the difficulties and challenges in the process of building and developing research groups. The overall results show that the period 2020-2022 was the period when research groups achieved the highest productivity, as evidenced by the number of international publications and research projects implemented. Throughout the period 2020-2025, the research groups of the Faculty carried out a total of 55.14 projects at the ministerial level and equivalent, and published 210.86 international articles. On average, the Faculty achieves 9.19 ministerial-level research projects and 35.14 international publications annually. These results demonstrate the strong development of scientific research capacity, especially in the field of international publications, within the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

During the discussion, research groups actively exchanged experiences and proposed numerous solutions to improve the effectiveness of scientific and technological activities in the future. The opinions focused on strengthening mechanisms for research funding support, simplifying scientific management procedures, building flexible management mechanisms suitable to the specific characteristics of research in agriculture and veterinary medicine, and implementing additional policies to support high-quality international publications, as well as investing in facilities and equipment for in-depth research. Furthermore, the conference emphasized the need to create more favorable conditions for young research groups and staff to participate in scientific projects, thereby building a high-quality successor research team for the Faculty.

This is a meaningful activity aimed at encouraging the spirit of scientific research, honoring outstanding efforts in international publications, and spreading the passion for research throughout the Faculty. Representing the honored faculty members, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Phan delivered a heartfelt and emotional speech sharing the journey of building and perfecting their research projects, while emphasizing the unwavering pursuit of scientific quality in the context of increasingly demanding internationalization.

The 2026 Veterinary Science Conference concluded in a solemn, united, and determined atmosphere of innovation. The conference was not only an opportunity to review the Faculty's scientific and technological development over the past five years, but also a crucial academic forum to strengthen connections, promote cooperation, and strategically orient research development in the next phase, contributing to building a stronger, more integrated, and more prominent Veterinary Faculty both domestically and internationally.
