(GLO)- On May 25, the Farmers' Association of An Khe town (Gia Lai province) held the 5th Congress of the Town Farmers' Association (term of 2023-2028).
Attending the meeting were Ms. Chu Thi Thu Huong - Vice President of the Provincial Farmers' Association; Standing Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Khe town; leaders of the Organizing Committee, the Propaganda Department of the Town Party Committee, the People's Committee of the town; leaders of communes and wards and 120 representatives representing more than 6.500 farmer members in the town.

An Khe Town Farmers' Association currently has more than 6.500 members, living in 11 associations. Over the past 5 years, the Town Farmers' Unions at all levels have been proactive, sticking to the targets, plans, and organizing the implementation to achieve many important results.
Implementing the movement of farmers emulating good production and business, uniting to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably, the Association at all levels deployed the movement across the locality. Accordingly, there were more than 23.404 turns of farmer households registered for the title of good production and business farmer and there were 17.549 turns of farmer households meeting the standard of good production and business farmer household at all levels.
To support farmer members to access, apply science and technology, and sell products, Associations at all levels have coordinated with functional sectors and businesses to organize 60 training sessions and seminars for more than 7.450 members. farmer. The Town Farmers' Union cooperated with the Transaction Office of the Bank for Social Policy in An Khe town to help 1.900 farming households borrow with a total outstanding loan of 85,310 billion VND. From the "Farmer Support Fund" of the Central, provinces and towns, it has helped many members to have more investment capital to expand production scale, develop economy, and increase income. Compared to the previous term, the number of households with a profit of more than 200 million VND/year increased by 3 times, the income of more than 1 billion VND/year increased by 5 times.

Joining hands to build rural infrastructure under the motto "The State and People work together", many farming households have donated more than 16.000 m2 of land, contributed more than 2.000 working days and more than 1,5 billion VND to build roads. rural traffic; repairing 2.500 m of canals, 60 bridges and culverts, 177 km of roads; clearing nearly 82 km of fences and structures; contributed funds to install lighting at 11 lines, 112 bulbs, and 3.962 m of electrical wires with an amount of more than 104 million VND, contributing to changing the face of the countryside.
Associations at all levels have mobilized members to contribute civic obligations at their residence, with 6.172/6.754 members, farmers voluntarily participating in health insurance and social insurance reached 91%; mobilize 100% of members to collect waste and register for clean water; mobilize 100% of farmer members to sign a commitment to ensure food safety.
The Association is also interested in building and developing effective economic models and mobilizing, guiding and supporting farmers to participate in the development of collective economic forms in agriculture. Up to now, the whole town has 8 cooperatives and 37 cooperative groups; 50 professional associations and 5 professional associations, of which 1 flower growing association in Ngo May ward developed into a flower cooperative group, 1 vegetable growing association in An Binh ward developed into An Binh cooperation in 2019.
In the last term, the Association at all levels introduced outstanding officers, members and farmers to the Party Committee for consideration and admission to 25 Party members.

The Congress elected 19 comrades to the Executive Board of An Khe Town Farmers' Association, term XII (term of 2023-2028). Comrade Truong Quoc Thang was elected Chairman of the An Khe Town Farmers' Association, term XII (term of 2023-2028). The Congress also elected a delegation of 11 official comrades and 2 alternates to attend the IX Provincial Farmers' Union Congress (term of 2023-2028).
