The statue of the benevolent deity, Grand Admiral Tran Quang Dieu, is placed in the center of the temple courtyard. The temple was renovated and beautified in early 2025, creating favorable conditions for people to come and worship.

The temple dedicated to Grand Admiral Tran Quang Dieu was first built in 1917 by the pioneers who settled this land. The benevolent deity worshipped there is one of the "Seven Tiger Generals of Tay Son," renowned for his loyalty, virtue, and contributions to fighting foreign invaders and building the nation under Emperor Quang Trung. From 1965 to 1969, the temple also served as a center of revolutionary activity.

With its historical and cultural value, in 2000, the temple dedicated to Grand Admiral Tran Quang Dieu was recognized as a provincial-level historical, cultural, and religious relic by the People's Committee of Bac Lieu province (formerly). In early 2025, the temple underwent restoration and upgrading of the main hall, creating favorable conditions for people to attend ceremonies.

The first incense stick in the ceremony honoring the deity Grand Admiral Tran Quang Dieu was offered to the altar by a local elder.

According to Mr. Tran Quoc Su, head of the temple's management board, thanks to the attention of the Party and the State, the temple has been renovated to a magnificent state, creating favorable conditions for people to attend the annual Ky Yen festival to pray for favorable weather, national peace and prosperity, abundant harvests, as well as to express gratitude to their ancestors and strengthen community bonds.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Khai, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phong Hiep commune, shared: “The Ky Yen festival is the biggest festival of the year in the locality. The ritual of worshipping at the communal house is both in accordance with traditional customs and contributes to preserving folk culture and educating the younger generation about traditions.”

Ms. Huynh Xuan Dao, a resident of Hamlet 3, happily said: “Every year I come here to visit the temple, praying for favorable weather and prosperity for all families. Previously, the temple was dilapidated, but now the government has invested in rebuilding it into a spacious and modern structure, creating favorable conditions for worship. The people are very happy.”

With over 100 years of history, the Ky Yen festival at the temple dedicated to Grand Admiral Tran Quang Dieu not only holds spiritual significance but also educates descendants about cultural traditions and national pride, while contributing to strengthening community solidarity.

Nowadays, the rituals in the festival are organized more concisely, simplifying elaborate ceremonies while still maintaining solemnity, bringing a joyful and exciting atmosphere to the people in the region.
