Traditional folk games attracted a large number of young people to participate in the festival.
The festival, held on April 2nd, included sports competitions and folk games, especially the distinctive shadow puppet dance of Southern Vietnam.
The ceremonial part takes place on April 3rd and 4th, including traditional rituals such as the procession of the ancestors To Minh Chanh and Nguyen Van Lanh; the procession of the goddess Thuy Long on the river; and the Ky Yen prayer ceremony for peace and offering of gifts.
The procession of the Water Dragon Goddess was conducted with great solemnity.
The management board of Thuy Long Temple performs the ritual of seeking guidance from the deity on a boat to bring the goddess back to the temple.
The procession of boats carrying the goddess on the river is a vivid image reflecting the riverine culture of Ca Mau .
Maintaining the Thuy Long Goddess Festival not only aims to preserve national intangible cultural heritage values, but also to introduce visitors from all over the world to the rich spiritual life and hospitality of the people of Ca Mau region.
