Attending the closing ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Van Thang, Minister of Finance; Ho Thi Hoang Yen, Secretary of Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee; Tran Ngoc Tam, Chairman of Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van Vinh, Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee. According to the My Thuan Project Management Board, in the past time, the investor, the consulting and supervising unit and contractors have focused on human resources, machinery and equipment, organized construction in "3 shifts, 4 teams", "overcoming the sun and rain" to strive to complete the Rach Mieu 2 bridge project.

After nearly 25 months of construction, the closing ceremony of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge is an important milestone in the construction progress, a premise for completing the project and putting it into operation according to the set goals.

According to the plan, the project will be completed in January 2026. However, after a period of effort, the My Thuan Project Management Board, the construction contractor, the supervision consultant and the participating units have completed the work ahead of the time required by the Prime Minister.

Accordingly, it is expected that after the closing ceremony of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge, the entire project will be completed and put into operation in August 2025 (about 3 months ahead of the Prime Minister's direction). The entire project will be completed about 6 months ahead of the contract.
According to the My Thuan Project Management Board, at the construction site, contractors have mobilized 150 pieces of equipment, 500 workers, and 83 technical staff to deploy 30 construction teams of "3 shifts, 4 shifts", across the country. Up to now, the entire project has been completed 85%, exceeding the general schedule by 5.04% compared to the plan. In particular, the main bridge section - Rach Mieu 2 Bridge is exceeding the schedule by more than 15%.
Rach Mieu 2 Bridge crosses the Tien River connecting the two provinces of Tien Giang and Ben Tre, located about 4 km upstream of the current Rach Mieu Bridge on the Tien River. The project has a total length of more than 17.6 km.

Including the access routes with the starting point connecting Dong Tam crossroads (intersection between National Highway 1 and Provincial Road 870) in Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province; the end point connecting Km16+660 National Highway 60, in Ben Tre city, Ben Tre province, about 0.71 km from Ham Luong bridge.
The main Rach Mieu 2 bridge section, 1.971 km long, is designed as a cable-stayed bridge, with 4 lanes for motor vehicles, 21.5 m wide, and a design speed of 80 km/h. The project has a total investment of more than 6,810 billion VND, starting from March 2022 (for the approach road), from March 2023 (for the main cable-stayed bridge).
At the closing ceremony of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge, Mr. Can Manh Hung, Director of the Executive Board of the Trung Nam EC - Trung Chinh - Dat Phuong and Bac Trung Nam Joint Ventures, said that the enterprise was very proud that the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project was closed before the country's reunification day.
The bridge not only helps to share the traffic load but also opens up a new direction for development for the whole region. The people here have also been looking forward to it and it is a great honor for Trung Nam EC to directly contribute to the construction of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge.
Currently, Trung Nam EC and the contractor consortium are still focusing all resources, arranging personnel to work in "3 shifts, 4 shifts" to be able to soon open the project to traffic on schedule of the investor.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge, Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang acknowledged, highly appreciated and warmly commended the very positive results of the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction), Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces, My Thuan Project Management Board, consultants and contractors for the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project.
In the coming time, in order to continue to smoothly implement transport infrastructure construction projects in the province, Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang requested the Party Committee, government and people of Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces to continue to help, support and create all conditions for site clearance and resettlement. At the same time, he directed the competent authorities to support investors, contractors and developers during the construction process.
Regarding Rach Mieu 2 Bridge, which was completed today, Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang requested the Ministry of Construction, My Thuan Project Management Board, consultants and contractors to continue to closely coordinate with local authorities to continue to speed up construction progress and soon put the project into operation.
In the coming time, the Ministry of Finance will continue to closely coordinate with the Ministry of Construction and relevant localities to ensure the completion of the project in accordance with the direction of the Prime Minister. According to its assigned functions and tasks, the Ministry of Finance will continue to advise the Government to include in the public investment plan major projects on transport infrastructure, energy infrastructure, industrial zones and clusters... in the region to further promote efficiency after Rach Mieu Bridge is completed and put into use.
