The students visited and had the opportunity to experience the cooperative.

The Dak Ro Wa Tourism and Agriculture Cooperative (Kon Tum City, Kon Tum Province) was established on October 12, 2022. Initially, the cooperative had only 15 members with a capital of over 300 million VND. Despite its small scale, the founding members set a goal of focusing production and business on two main service groups aimed at the community.

Specifically, the agricultural services group focuses on supplying inputs such as fertilizers and pesticides; supporting local people in trading agricultural and forestry products and raw materials; trading animals such as chickens and hybrid wild boars; and planting and caring for forests.

For the non-agricultural service sector, the cooperative will produce knitted and crocheted clothing, local traditional products; operate tours , homestay services, organize gong and drum dance performances, and educational tourism. Furthermore, the cooperative aims to protect the environment with services for processing and disposing of non-toxic waste.

The highlight of the cooperative is the participation of many members, mainly ethnic minorities, teachers, businesses, and even leaders of Kon Tum City. According to Mr. Nguyen Ba Tam, Director of the Dak Ro Wa Tourism and Agriculture Cooperative, the cooperative's biggest expectation is to strongly develop the school tourism model. Specifically, the cooperative will cooperate with schools in Kon Tum City to organize visits and experiences for students to fruit orchards, weaving, brocade making, and ancient villages in the city...

In May 2023, the cooperative opened stalls selling agricultural products, food, and other goods at the Dak Ro Wa commune market. The market aimed to help local people overcome difficulties in selling their agricultural products and to introduce traditional local handicrafts.

According to Mr. Tam, the cooperative has so far attracted over 600 members. The unit has developed a two-phase development plan. Phase 1 (2023-2025) focuses on reducing input production costs and improving output product quality; Phase 2 (2025-2028) focuses on developing distribution channels. Projected revenue is nearly 1.431 billion VND in 2023, over 2.1 billion VND in 2024, and nearly 3.1 billion VND in 2025.

In the coming period, the cooperative will develop programs, plans, and specific strategies to grow stronger; closely coordinate and link with organizations, individuals, travel companies, and cooperatives throughout the province to create relationships and linkages in production, business, and product consumption.

Mr. Dao Van Hau, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Ro Wa commune, commented that the school tourism activities being implemented by the Dak Ro Wa Tourism - Agriculture Cooperative have initially created a positive effect, attracting special attention from schools, a large number of parents, and students. He hopes that in the future, the cooperative will have many more good models and creative approaches, bringing new and interesting experiences to students visiting Dak Ro Wa commune.
