Students visit and experience at the cooperative
Dak Ro Wa Tourism - Agriculture Cooperative (Kon Tum City, Kon Tum) was established on October 12, 2022. At the beginning, the cooperative had only 15 members with a capital of more than 300 million VND. Although small in scale, the founding board set a goal of focusing production and business on 2 main service groups towards the community.
In particular, the agricultural service group focuses on supplying input materials such as fertilizers and pesticides; supporting local people in trading agricultural, forestry and raw materials; trading animals such as chickens and hybrid wild boars; planting and caring for forests.
For the non-agricultural service group, the cooperative will produce knitted and crocheted clothes, local traditional products; operate tours , homestay services, organize gong and xoang dance services... and school tourism. Not only that, the cooperative also aims to protect the environment with non-toxic waste treatment and disposal services.
The highlight of the cooperative is the mobilization of many members, mainly ethnic minorities, teachers, businesses and even leaders of Kon Tum City. According to Mr. Nguyen Ba Tam, Director of Dak Ro Wa Agricultural - Tourism Cooperative, the biggest expectation of the cooperative is to strongly develop the school tourism model. Specifically, the cooperative will coordinate with schools in Kon Tum City to organize for students to visit and experience fruit gardens, weaving, brocade weaving, ancient villages in the city...
In May 2023, the Cooperative opened stalls for buying and selling agricultural products, food, and foodstuffs... at the Dak Ro Wa commune market. The market aims to create conditions for local people to solve difficulties in agricultural product output and introduce traditional local handicrafts.
According to Mr. Tam, the cooperative has so far attracted over 600 members. The unit has developed a development plan in 2 phases. Phase 1 (2023 - 2025) focuses on reducing input production costs and improving the quality of output products; Phase 2 (2025 - 2028) focuses on developing distribution channels. Estimated revenue in 2023 is nearly 1,431 billion VND, in 2024 over 2.1 billion VND and in 2025 nearly 3.1 billion VND.
In the coming time, the Cooperative will develop programs, plans and have specific strategies to grow stronger and stronger; closely coordinate and link with organizations, individuals, travel companies, and cooperatives in the whole province to create relationships and links in production, business and product consumption.
Mr. Dao Van Hau, Chairman of Dak Ro Wa Commune People's Committee, commented that the school tourism activities implemented by Dak Ro Wa Agricultural - Tourism Cooperative have initially created a good effect, attracting special attention from schools, a large number of parents and students.
