(GLO) - As part of their working visit to the Republic of India, over two days (June 26 and 27), the Gia Lai provincial delegation, led by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Mah Tiep, held working sessions with trade associations, tourism associations, and investors in Tamil Nadu to explore opportunities for cooperation, linkages, and investment between the two localities.

The delegation included representatives from several departments, agencies, and businesses.
Tamil Nadu is the 11th largest state in India by area and the 6th largest by population. It has the second largest economy in the country and possesses similar potential and advantages to Gia Lai province, such as high-tech agriculture, processing industries, and renewable energy. It also boasts abundant natural resources, historical and religious architectural sites, multi-religious pilgrimage sites, and World Heritage sites.
The delegation held working sessions with the Department of Tourism, chambers of commerce, and business representatives to provide information on the characteristics, potential strengths, investment attraction policies, and investment projects; and to connect and cooperate in areas such as high-tech agriculture, agricultural product import and export, supply and consumption of medicinal products, and raw materials for the production of environmental treatment products.

The delegation visited and worked with the multinational healthcare group Apollo—one of the leading healthcare groups in the region—with 70 satellite hospitals, 10,000 beds, and 2,200 pharmacies; Madras University, established in 1857 and one of India's leading universities; and the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras (IIT Madras)...
Through this, both sides, especially the businesses, exchanged information and noted potential areas for future collaboration, such as: import and export of agricultural products and pharmaceuticals; opening tourism routes combining relaxation and medical examinations and treatment; supporting the improvement of medical staff's skills, online diagnosis and treatment; online training, and providing some applications in the field of information technology.
In Tamil Nadu, the delegation also attended the festival and visited the exhibition of Indian small and medium-sized enterprises in 2023.

Tomorrow, June 28th, the delegation will attend the 2023 Trade Conference organized by the Telangana State Government. There, Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, Duong Mah Tiep, will deliver a speech introducing the potential, strengths, and investment cooperation opportunities of Gia Lai province to approximately 200 Indian and international businesses.
