(GLO) - Over two days (June 27 and 28), the Pleiku City Farmers' Association held its 11th Congress of Delegates (2023-2028 term) with the participation of 168 delegates representing 11,869 farmer members throughout the city.

During the 2018-2023 term, the city's Farmers' Association at all levels developed 1,814 new members (reaching nearly 363% of the Resolution's target); mobilized members to contribute over 2 billion VND to the Association's fund; established 5 professional farmers' branches, 85 professional farmers' groups, and 12 farmers' associations with 507 members; built 5 cooperatives with 276 members; provided 409,660 coffee seedlings to 1,243 households; helped 70 member households escape poverty; provided capital support to 15 poor member households to invest in production; visited and presented gifts worth nearly 300 million VND to 818 policy beneficiary families; mobilized the construction of 15 charitable houses with a total amount of over 413 million VND… To date, Pleiku City has 4,224 farmer member households that have achieved the title of excellent producers and business operators at various levels.
The Congress adopted a Resolution for the 2023-2028 term with several basic targets such as: recruiting 400 new members per year; 100% of local branches having funds; 100% of local branches successfully completing their tasks, with 50% achieving outstanding performance…
The Congress elected a 29-member Executive Committee for the 2023-2028 term; and elected 15 delegates to attend the higher-level Congress. Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Van was re-elected as President of the City Farmers' Association for the 2023-2028 term.
On this occasion, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Pleiku City awarded certificates of commendation to 7 collectives and 5 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the work of the Farmers' Association and the farmers' movement during the 2018-2023 term.
