Cao Bang's cuisine is rich, diverse, harmonious and sophisticated, creating a distinct impression in the minds of tourists.

Cao Bang is a land favored by nature with suitable climate and soil, so it has formed areas for growing raw materials and specialty plants such as: Phia Den vermicelli (Nguyen Binh district); pears, black jelly trees (Thach An district); chestnuts, white jelly trees Mac Pup (Trung Khanh district); blood plum trees (Bao Lac district); Gynostemma pentaphyllum tea, red Polygonum multiflorum; Xom Deng trees; Phjac Chac trees, etc.

In addition, Cao Bang is also famous as a culinary paradise with extremely unique dishes such as: rice rolls, sour pho, duck pho, coong phu cake, khao cake, che lam cake, 7-flavor roasted duck, roasted suckling pig, ap chao cake, ant egg cake, ant egg sticky rice, five-color sticky rice, black canarium sticky rice, black jelly, white jelly, Xom Deng jelly, ... The above famous dishes have contributed to capturing the minds of tourists who want to experience the cuisine of Cao Bang.

Not only that, thanks to its unique culinary culture, Cao Bang has many fruits and specialties honored by the Vietnam Record Organization such as: Le Dong Khe was in the Top 50 most famous fruits in Vietnam in 2012; sticky rice with canarium fruit and coong phu cake were in the "Top 100 Vietnamese specialties" in 2020 - 2021; Trung Khanh chestnuts were in the "Top 100 Vietnamese specialties" in 2020 - 2021; rolled rice cakes and ap chao cakes were selected in the "Top 100 Vietnamese specialties" in 2021 - 2022; Che Lam cake and Phja Den black dong vermicelli were selected in the "Top 100 Vietnamese specialties" in 2021 - 2022...

Along with that, many Cao Bang specialties have achieved 3-star OCOP certification in the One Commune One Agricultural Product program that has long been famous such as: Bao Lac fragrant sticky rice; smoked meat; Chinese sausage; dong vermicelli; black jelly; Ha Lang baked cake; Na Giang sli; A1 Red Tea; A2 Green Tea; Gynostemma pentaphyllum tea; CP 999 corn wine; Khau Nang wine... and many other titles.

Some products have achieved 3-star OCOP certification in the One Commune One Agricultural Product program.

In 2022, Cao Bang successfully organized the "Delicious Dishes of the Mountainous Region" Tourism Culinary Creativity Contest of Cao Bang province to position the tourism brand from cuisine, and at the same time search for unique and typical dishes to gradually form a culinary tourism map of Cao Bang in the future.

With the success of the first Competition in 2022, Cao Bang province decided to include it as an annual tourism activity, promising to create a diverse and rich culinary space for visitors to Cao Bang.

Implementing the breakthrough content on sustainable tourism and service development in 2023, the province continues to deploy training and fostering cooking skills at community tourism sites to improve the quality of human resources to bring visitors the best experiences of mountainous and riverside cuisine.

With the participation of all levels of industry, business units, and people, Cao Bang culinary tourism in particular and Cao Bang tourism in general will build its own brand and mark for tourists in the coming time.
