In early February, the Women's Union of Tinh Bien ward coordinated the launch of the "Zero-Cost Stall" model in Phu Hiep hamlet. The stalls are located in spacious areas, allowing residents to comfortably choose their items. They offer many essential goods such as clothing and vegetables, all given away for free, helping to alleviate the difficulties faced by residents. Ms. Le Thi Thao, a resident of Tinh Bien ward, said that she often comes here to get some vegetables for her daily meals, helping her family reduce some expenses.
According to Nguyen Thi Thuy An, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Tinh Bien Ward, with the humane message "Those in need, please come; those who have, please share," the model has received, sorted, and hygienically arranged vegetables, fruits, and clothes from the Bay Nui 0 Dong Charity Group to provide free services. To date, the stall has assisted over 500 people, donating more than 850 products with a total value of approximately 42 million VND.
Along with the "Zero-Cost Booth," the Women's Union of Tinh Bien Ward has also simultaneously implemented models such as "Mutual Support for Health Insurance," "Women's Participation in Social and Charitable Work," "Charitable Kitchen," and "Support for Vulnerable Women" to provide mutual support and better care for people in difficult circumstances. These are five models within the larger model of "Connecting - Accompanying - Sharing - Developing ."
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy An stated that, due to the local characteristics of being a border and mountainous area, the lives of a segment of women still face many difficulties. The economy mainly depends on farming, small-scale trading, seasonal labor, and hired work, resulting in unstable income. Furthermore, the situation where many workers leave their hometowns to work elsewhere leads to a reality where many women have to single-handedly support their families, raise young children, or care for elderly parents.
Economic difficulties lead to feelings of inferiority and self-doubt, causing many vulnerable women to hesitate to interact with the community and participate in local movements. Based on this reality, the Standing Committee of the Tinh Bien Ward Women's Union developed the "Connecting - Accompanying - Sharing - Developing" model, linking five component models. Each component model has its own operating regulations, clear task assignments, and targets a specific group, but all share the common goal of supporting vulnerable women to rise above their circumstances.
A prime example is the "Mutual Support for Health Insurance" model, managed by the Phu Hoa Hamlet Women's Association, which has been operating continuously since May 2021 with 8 members. The model has raised 20 million VND in cash to support 60 disadvantaged members in purchasing health insurance, with a cumulative total of over 43 million VND. The "Women's Participation in Social and Charitable Work" model, established in January 2019 with 15 members, has become a strong support system for those less fortunate. To date, the model has raised 500 million VND, provided over 410 gift packages, offered free medical transportation to over 310 people, and built and renovated 16 houses.
Meanwhile, the "Charitable Kitchen" model focuses on daily welfare activities. This model has been undertaken by the Phu Hoa Hamlet Women's Association since July 2024 (lunar calendar). The women persistently organize cooking for four days a month, providing 1,200 meals at a cost of approximately 18 million VND per month. In the first half of 2026, the kitchen regularly served 6,000 meals at a cost of 90 million VND; and prepared 700 emergency meals at a cost of 10.5 million VND.
In particular, the "Support for Vulnerable Women" model, directly managed by the Women's Union of the ward, was established in early 2026 with 17 core members. The group focuses on helping poor, single, and disabled women by providing livelihood support, capital, medical treatment costs, and housing. The results are extremely impressive, with the model supporting 266 vulnerable members with a total value equivalent to 400 million VND, of which the Women's Union directly mobilized 155 million VND…
From the above facts, it can be seen that the model creates a synchronized link between social welfare activities, avoiding duplication and maximizing efficiency; it effectively promotes the role of the Women's Union in caring for vulnerable women. The model effectively mobilizes social resources, contributing to strengthening solidarity within the community. In addition to providing material support, the model also focuses on caring for the spiritual well-being and encouraging vulnerable women to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
