These horror films will be screened at AMC theaters across the US, as part of a 5-day entertainment event spanning 40 cities nationwide. Tickets are expected to cost around $8 (approximately 200,000 VND). The films scheduled for re-release include: Split (scheduled for March 29th), The Purge (scheduled for March 30th), Ouija: Origin of Evil (March 31st), Insidious (April 1st – marking the 13th anniversary of its release), and The Invisible Man (April 2nd).
Blumhouse wants to express its gratitude to audiences through a five-day film screening event at the end of March, which includes the "revival" of Insidious in theaters.
This five-day event, titled "Halfway to Halloween Film Festival," aims to prepare for this year's Halloween film season and promote the company's brand in the horror genre.
This is the latest collaboration between AMC and Blumhouse. Previously, the theater chain and the company have partnered to produce/screen over 200 films and television programs. During the five-day event, Blumhouse films will be shown at 100 AMC theaters.
According to The New York Times , each audience member who purchases a ticket will receive a recorded message from Jason Blum, CEO and founder of Blumhouse, and they can also play games and win prizes.
Speaking to the media, Jason Blum said: "We wanted to celebrate local horror movie communities across cities with hardcore horror films that are also hilarious. We thank our partners at AMC for helping us make this wish a reality."
Among these films, the Insidious franchise is the longest-running. Directed by James Wan, it served as the launchpad for the entire Insidious franchise, even though he later stepped down from directing. To date, the franchise has grossed over $730 million worldwide, while its production budget was less than $43 million, making it one of the studio's most successful horror franchises.
