Some changes in iOS 18. Photo: Apple

Although Apple Intelligence hasn't yet been released with iOS 18, the operating system still contains many interesting features. Apple released the iOS 18 update at 0:00 AM on September 17th (Vietnam time), compatible with iPhone SE 2, iPhone SE 3, and iPhone XR and later models. The four iPhone 16 models – iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max – come pre-installed with iOS 18.

If you own one of the compatible iPhones, you can download iOS 18 by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

iOS 18 was first introduced by Apple at the WWDC 2024 developer conference. iPhones running iOS 18 can change the layout of apps and widgets on the home screen. In the Control Center, users can adjust more things such as the music being played or specific apps, and change the shortcuts for the camera and flashlight on the lock screen.

In addition, iOS 18 also brings a much-anticipated feature: the ability to lock or hide any app using a password or Face ID. If you don't want anyone to know which apps you have installed, you can move them to the Hidden folder in the App Library.

iOS 18 redesigned the Photos app to make it easier for users to search for specific images and organize photos in more ways. The new Passwords app securely stores all login information and syncs passwords across Apple devices.

With AirPods Pro 2, users can interact with Siri simply by nodding or shaking their head. In the Messages app, users can schedule messages to be sent later, interact with messages, and format text with new effects such as bold and underline.
