The iPhone 15 hasn't even been released yet, but Apple is already preparing for the iPhone 17.

According to Livemint , this suggests Apple is looking to the future, given that the A17 Bionic chip is complete and ready for the upcoming iPhone 15 series. This development will impact future iPhone and Mac models, although details remain unconfirmed at this time.

The A19 Bionic is not expected to appear until 2025 in the iPhone 17 series.

Information about the A19 Bionic and M5 (including Pro/Max/Ultra variants) was shared by a user on X named @_orangera1n, where he provided some details regarding the development process of the new chips. According to the report, the A19 Bionic is the chip expected to come to the iPhone 17 series that Apple will launch in 2025. The current A16 Bionic chip in the iPhone 14 Pro has 16 billion transistors, and the number of transistors will increase in the A17 Bionic in the iPhone 15 Pro due to being manufactured on a 3nm process.

The report suggests that the A19 Bionic will be Apple's first chip manufactured using a 2nm process. In theory, this chip promises faster performance and improved energy efficiency thanks to smaller transistors, allowing for increased transistor density.

According to the report, development work on the A18 Bionic chip, which will be used in the iPhone 16 series next year, has also been completed.

Besides the A19 Bionic, reports confirm that Apple is developing the M5 chip for future Mac lineups. Apple is expected to launch its first Macs equipped with the M3 chip, suggesting the potential for M5-powered Macs to launch around the same time as the iPhone 17.
