It's still too early to say what Apple's upcoming high-end iPhones will look like, but the news coming from reliable sources paints an exciting picture of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max .
Big screen, bigger battery
A big smartphone isn't necessarily better than a small one, but many people are still jumping on the trend of phones with larger screens.
Perhaps that's why Apple continues to meet users' expectations with larger-screen iPhone models. Recent leaks have suggested that the iPhone 16 Pro will have a 6.3-inch screen (up from 6.1 inches on the iPhone 15 Pro) and the iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a 6.9-inch screen (up from 6.7 inches on the iPhone 15 Pro Max).
Although there has been no confirmation from Apple, this information is more or less consistent with the numbers mentioned in reports over the past few months.
Not only will the screen be larger, the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max are also said to have larger batteries, expected to deliver battery life in excess of 30 hours.
At their best, Apple’s current ultra-premium handsets are said to last around 16 and 19 hours between charges, respectively, so an increase to over 30 hours would certainly be considered a major upgrade.
Of course, this cannot be verified yet because the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are still in development. How much battery life will be achieved will have to wait until the device is operational during actual use.
Big storage, big camera and new colors
Maybe the iPhone doesn't need 2TB of storage. However, there will be a few people who want to buy such an iPhone, but it certainly won't be cheap. Therefore, the information about upgrading to "huge" storage will not be as attractive as the feature below.
There's one big upgrade that's exclusive to the iPhone 16 Pro Max: a camera upgrade. According to leaks, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature a custom 48MP Sony IMX903 image sensor.
Note that the iPhone 15 Pro Max uses the Sony IMX803 as its 48MP main rear camera, so this upgrade of the iPhone 16 Pro Max to "903" is not really shocking.
New colors are also considered to be of interest for the upcoming high-end iPhone models. The two new colors that are said to appear in the iPhone 16 Pro collection are Desert Yellow and Cement Gray, which may replace the Blue Titanium and Natural Titanium of the previous version.
Interestingly, the gold color may be closer to a coppery gold or even a rose gold than actual gold. This color, along with Black Titanium, White Titanium, and Gray Titanium, will likely be the four main color options for the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro (and perhaps the iPhone 16 Pro Max).
The iPhone 16 series is expected to launch next September. Notably, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max versions will have strong camera upgrades, support for Wi-Fi 7 and 5G Advance connectivity, A18 Pro chip, and a graphene cooling system. The iPhone 16 series will likely support generative AI, allowing users to interact with chatbots or create text images right on their phones.
