Previously, on social network X, Apple CEO Tim Cook posted a short video with the silver Apple logo and the following phrases: "Get ready to meet the newest member of the family. Wednesday, February 19. #AppleLaunch". And now, the device has officially been launched with the name iPhone 16e.
The iPhone 16e is said to have a similar design to the iPhone 14 but only has a single camera on the back. The device uses a notch design to accommodate the Face ID sensor as well as the front camera.
It features a premium 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with an edge-to-edge design perfect for watching HDR videos, playing games, and reading sharp text.
iPhone 16e is equipped with a powerful 2-in-1 camera system, using a 48MP Fusion sensor combined with a 2x telephoto lens to enhance the user experience.
Inside, the device is powered by a 3nm A18 chip (similar to the chip used in the current iPhone 16 series). According to Apple, the 6-core CPU in the new iPhone 16 model is up to 80% faster than the A13 Bionic chip on the iPhone 11, helping to handle everyday and intensive tasks with ease - from simple workloads to more demanding actions with Apple Intelligence.
The new iPhone supports IP68 water and dust resistance, the front is protected by Ceramic Shield glass with an advanced formula that is stronger than any smartphone glass, and the back is made of the hardest glass in a smartphone.
Apple claims the phone has the best battery life ever on a 6.1-inch iPhone, lasting up to 6 hours longer than the iPhone 11 and 12 hours longer than all generations of the iPhone SE.
It is also the first Apple phone to use the company's new C1 modem, which is said to be the most power-efficient modem ever on an iPhone, delivering fast and reliable 5G cellular connectivity.
In addition, the iPhone 16e also brings some upgrades: new USB-C charging port, satellite communication support, new Action button, running iOS 18 out of the box.
The device has two color options, white and black, with capacities of 128GB?256GB/512GB and is priced at 16.99 million, 19.99 million and 25.99 million respectively.
Users in Vietnam can pre-order the new iPhone model from February 28 and receive the goods on March 7.
