Previously, on social media platform X, Apple CEO Tim Cook posted a short video featuring the silver Apple logo along with the following phrases: "Get ready to meet the newest member of the family. Wednesday, February 19th. #AppleLaunch". And now, the device has been officially unveiled as the iPhone 16e.
The iPhone 16e is said to have a similar design to the iPhone 14 but with only a single camera on the back. It uses a notch design to house the Face ID sensor as well as the front camera.
The device is equipped with a premium 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with a perfect bezel-less design for watching HDR videos, playing games, and reading text with sharp clarity.
The iPhone 16e is equipped with a powerful 2-in-1 camera system, using a 48MP Fusion sensor combined with a 2x telephoto lens to enhance the user experience.
Inside, the device is powered by a 3nm A18 chip (the same chip used in the current iPhone 16 series). According to Apple, the 6-core CPU in the new iPhone 16 model is up to 80% faster than the A13 Bionic chip in the iPhone 11, making it easy to handle everyday and intensive tasks—from simple workloads to more demanding actions with Apple Intelligence.
The new iPhone model supports IP68 water and dust resistance, the front is protected by Ceramic Shield glass with an advanced formula that is more durable than any other smartphone glass, and the back is made of the toughest glass in smartphones.
Apple claims the phone has the best battery life ever on a 6.1-inch iPhone, lasting up to 6 hours longer than the iPhone 11 and 12 hours longer than all generations of the iPhone SE.
This is also Apple's first phone to use the new C1 modem developed by the company. Reportedly the most power-efficient modem ever on an iPhone, it delivers fast and reliable 5G cellular connectivity.
Additionally, the iPhone 16e also offers several upgrades: a new USB-C charging port, support for satellite communication, a new Action button, and runs iOS 18 out of the box.
The device comes in two color options, white and black, with storage capacities of 128GB/256GB/512GB and prices of 16.99 million, 19.99 million and 25.99 million respectively.
Users in Vietnam can pre-order the new iPhone model starting February 28th and receive it on March 7th.
