A survey conducted by SellCell with over 3,500 iPhone users focused on the new iPhone 16 and iPhone 16e models. The results showed that only 7.3% of users were interested in the iPhone 16e, while the remaining 92% did not choose this model. Three main reasons were cited:

• Lack of a rear camera: 52.6% of users are dissatisfied with the absence of a wide-angle or telephoto camera.
• Prioritizing premium devices: 34% of users prefer higher-end iPhone models because they want to experience the best Apple has to offer, regardless of the price.
• Price: 91.6% of users are dissatisfied with the price of the iPhone 16e.

Therefore, it's clear that camera issues will affect user interest in iPhones, particularly the upcoming iPhone 17 Air. Rumors and leaked models suggest the Air model will only have a single 48MP camera, similar to the iPhone 16e.

The camera is one of the top factors users consider when choosing an iPhone, especially the high-end models. A survey by SellCell also shows that users are willing to pay extra for additional features such as Dynamic Island, MagSafe charging, multiple rear cameras, and a brighter display.

A key question is whether the iPhone 17 Air will be considered a premium phone by consumers. While it will feature MagSafe charging and the potential A19 chip, it remains unclear whether these factors will be enough to convince users to overlook the compromises in photography capabilities.
