The iPhone 17 Pro Max could be the last "Max" iPhone

(Dan Tri) - Many people choose to buy the iPhone Pro Max version because the device has the largest screen in the entire product range. However, the iPhone 17 Pro Max may be the last "Max" iPhone model to truly own that title.

“Max” will no longer mean biggest when the foldable iPhone arrives. Normally, “Max” implies that nothing can surpass it. However, Apple broke this rule when it introduced the M1 Ultra chip, which is more powerful than the M1 Max. And history seems to be repeating itself.

According to leaked information, in addition to the iPhone 18 Pro Max launched in 2026, Apple will also announce a completely new product line. Most likely, this model will be called iPhone Fold or iPhone Ultra.

The iPhone Fold will be Apple's first foldable iPhone. It is expected to have a 5.5-inch outer display and a 7.8-inch inner display, making it the largest iPhone ever.

The arrival of the iPhone Fold also marks a significant shift in Apple’s product thinking. Up until now, the “Max” line has represented the most advanced, most powerful, and largest version.

After the Fold comes out, the “Max” may just be a premium traditional option, while the Fold becomes a symbol of the future and innovation.

For most average users, the Pro Max is probably still the safer choice. This model can handle most everyday usage experiences well.

Meanwhile, the iPhone Fold will target users who love new experiences and unique features that only appear on folding screen phones. Of course, the expected price of more than 2,000 USD will become a big barrier for users.
