Apple first introduced the Ultra brand in 2022 with the M1 Ultra chip - a step up from the M1 Max chip. Then the Apple Watch Ultra was launched, bypassing all other Apple Watches. Then Apple pushed the M2 Ultra for its most powerful Mac line with the Apple Watch Ultra2.

And most recently, Apple has named the new generation of CarPlay CarPlay Ultra. At the same time, the company has linked CarPlay Ultra with Aston Martin, the top luxury car brand - reinforcing the Ultra image.

In 2022, journalist Mark Gurman said: Apple is considering dropping the "Pro" suffix and replacing the top-end line with "Ultra" and users can wait for the iPhone 15 to launch to see this change. However, nothing has changed on the iPhone 15, but it may be coming soon.

This might be the perfect time to restructure the entire iPhone lineup to match the MacBook and iPad naming scheme.

According to leaked information, the iPhone 17 series will include iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Ultra.

There is no confirmation yet about the launch of the iPhone Ultra this year. However, as the Ultra brand gradually replaces the Pro in the product lines, this idea may gradually become a reality.

This is also an opportunity for Apple to clearly differentiate the Ultra with its own hardware and software, while also synchronizing its product naming system across the entire portfolio.

Some reports indicate that the two iPhone 17 Pro models will have a smaller Dynamic Island. However, another source claims that only the iPhone 17 Ultra will have a smaller Dynamic Island. And the source also revealed that only the Ultra model will be equipped with a vapor chamber cooling system. At the same time, the Ultra model will have a thicker battery than the iPhone 17 Pro due to its larger battery.

Recently, a leak has revealed details about the rumored design of the upcoming new iPhone Pro. According to the shared image, the rear design of the device is notable, especially the large cutout for the camera cluster. This camera cluster will apparently include 3 image sensors, a LiDAR sensor, and a flash. This can be considered a significant step forward in Apple's camera design.

Specifically: the iPhone 17 Pro's camera cluster is bar-shaped, seemingly an extended version of the familiar canopy design on the recent Google Pixel line. In addition, through the images, we can see the diversity in color options including light colors such as: light blue, light green, gray, light purple in addition to the traditional opaque white.

Previously, The Information revealed: Apple could make a big surprise with the iPhone 17 models launched in September next year when it abandons the use of titanium frames after only two generations and replaces them with aluminum frames. It is known that aluminum material helps the device to be light but still ensures durability.

At the same time, the back instead of using all glass is a combination of aluminum and glass; the rear camera cluster is rectangular and larger than the current model. The raised part is made of aluminum and the bottom part is glass to support wireless charging.

Some sources revealed that Apple will add vapor chamber cooling technology, with the same operating mechanism as many current Android phone models, to improve performance for the iPhone 17 Pro line.
