The iPhone 17 series will officially launch in early September. Apple is expected to surprise with the iPhone 17 Air - an ultra-thin smartphone - expected to replace the Plus line.
But the American tech giant's ambitions are even bigger. In the next 2 years, the iPhone 2027 could be a true "full-screen" smartphone.
Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, known for his insider sources, revealed iPhone plans for the next two years in his latest report.
Accordingly, the size of Dynamic Island is expected to be significantly reduced on the iPhone 18 launched next year. But by 2027, Apple is said to go even further in its efforts to streamline the device.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the iconic smartphone, the 2027 iPhone is rumored to feature extremely thin curved glass edges to optimize display space.
Gurman's assessment completely matches the information from leaker Majin Bu.
Recently, Majin Bu revealed that the 2027 iPhone is internally codenamed "Glasswing" – reminiscent of the Greta oto butterfly with its unique transparent wings.
Majin Bu further explained: “Apple is planning to completely remove the screen bezel and integrate Face ID technology and the front camera right under the screen.”
Not only that, he also expects the 2027 iPhone to offer significantly better battery life to support advanced Apple Intelligence features and 6G connectivity.
If the predictions from Mark Gurman and Majin Bu come true, the 2027 iPhone will definitely be a blockbuster that will make users "open their wallets".
However, the use of glass and advanced integrated technology could push the price of Apple's special anniversary iPhone higher.
Now we'll have to wait patiently to discover this unique smartphone, and Apple probably won't call it the "iPhone 19."
