According to CNN, at a joint press conference with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on June 23, President Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran would never negotiate about its missile capabilities with any country, including the United States.

Pezeshkian said, “Discussions about our missile program were not included in the memorandum signed with the US and will never appear in any agreement. If we don’t have missiles to defend ourselves, Israel and the US will devastate Iran.”
Pakistani Prime Minister Sharif said there should be no “double standards” on the issue of ballistic missiles because Iran also has the right to possess these weapons, just like many other countries. “I need to make it clear that ballistic missiles were not mentioned in the MoU signed between Iran and the US because this issue was never raised in the discussions. Many countries have ballistic missiles, so why would I oppose Iran possessing them?” Sharif stated.
The US opposes Iran's imposition of fees in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to CBS, during his visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on June 23, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio reaffirmed that Washington would not accept Iran charging fees in the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
“The Strait of Hormuz is an international shipping lane. No country is allowed to collect fees on this shipping lane. That is current international law, that is the regulation in international waters worldwide ,” Rubio emphasized.
The US Secretary of State's statement comes as Iranian and Omani officials have just formed a joint committee to discuss the management and collection of fees in the Strait of Hormuz.
