What is Kagawa like now?

At 36 years old, Shinji Kagawa is still playing in the domestic league for Cerezo Osaka.

Since the beginning of this year, Kagawa has played 27 matches and scored 4 goals for Cerezo Osaka in all competitions. He recently featured in his team's 1-3 defeat against Kashima Antlers in Round 31 of the J.League on September 23rd.

After many years playing in Europe, Kagawa decided to return to his homeland to play for Cerezo Osaka in 2023 as a free agent. After 79 appearances, the former Japanese international scored 7 goals.

Kagawa had a successful career in Europe, winning the Bundesliga (with Dortmund) and the Premier League (with Manchester United). In particular, Kagawa shone at Dortmund and became one of the best attacking midfielders in the Bundesliga.
