Singer Duy Truong, a close colleague of Kasim Hoang Vu's family, said that Kasim passed away in Texas. In his final days, when the singer's health was failing, some relatives and colleagues in the US were able to visit and say goodbye to him.

According to Duy Truong, the singer's family did not want a lavish funeral, with only a few close friends and family members present to express their condolences. "He wanted his voice to live on in everyone's hearts forever," Duy Truong said.

Currently, the singer's mother and a younger sibling are handling the funeral arrangements, and the obituary will be announced soon. The funeral rites are expected to be simple and brief.

Over the years, Kasim Hoang Vu's health has deteriorated due to a jaw bone tumor. The singer underwent surgery on his jaw and neck, resulting in facial asymmetry and partial chin deformation. He can only eat soft foods and has limited jaw muscle activity, leading to weight loss.

In 2024, his illness relapsed, requiring a second surgery. At that time, singer Tuan Hien – a colleague of his – said that his health was very weak, he was tired, and unable to eat or sleep. Many colleagues, such as Nguyen Hong Nhung and Phung Ngoc Huy, planned a charity concert to support the singer's treatment.

"Just last year, I flew to Houston with overseas artists like Nguyen Hong Nhung and Trizzie Phuong Trinh to hold a charity concert to raise funds for Kasim's medical treatment, and now I've received the news of his passing," Qui Ngoc said.

Singer Dinh Hien Anh, who studied with Kasim Hoang Vu at the Military Academy of Arts, was shocked to hear the news. She said she vividly remembers singing together at " The Green Path ," Kasim's concert in 2020, one of his last performances. She was impressed by his powerful and free-spirited voice. "I hope in his next life he will still be like a whirlwind in music , still as cheerful and humorous as he was," Dinh Hien Anh said.

The singer, who lives in Texas, USA, used to perform overseas, invested in a recording studio, and produced his own music videos for YouTube. After experiencing health problems, he focused solely on his restaurant business and ceased his artistic activities. Having visited Kasim Hoang Vu's restaurant in 2024, Duy Truong said he was moved by the singer's resilience, "although I occasionally saw him looking a little sad and self-conscious because of his illness."
