This morning (August 17th), the 16th (special) session of the 11th Provincial People's Council opened at the Provincial Conference Center. The session was chaired by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Nguyen Hoai Anh, and the Vice-Chairmen of the Provincial People's Council. Attending the session were the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Doan Anh Dung; representatives from relevant departments, agencies, and localities; and delegates of the Provincial People's Council.
In his opening remarks at the session, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Hoai Anh emphasized that at the 16th session, the Provincial People's Committee would present to the Provincial People's Council proposals for approving investment policies, adjusting investment policy approvals for socio-economic development projects, and allocating public investment funds and funds for national target programs to meet the requirements of managing the province's socio-economic development. At the same time, the Provincial People's Council would carry out personnel work within its authority.
According to the assessment of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, continuing the spirit of innovation in the activities of the Provincial People's Council, the contents presented at this session were prepared by the Provincial People's Committee in accordance with the prescribed procedures and regulations, with input from the Provincial People's Council Committees from the beginning and rigorous verification.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Council requested that delegates uphold their responsibilities, focus on discussing each item, especially the suggestions from the Provincial People's Council Committees mentioned in the verification report, in order to contribute many heartfelt, frank, and high-quality opinions and resolutions on the contents to be presented at the session.
According to the plan, the 16th session of the 11th Provincial People's Council will take place on August 17th. The main agenda includes: reviewing submissions and draft resolutions to be presented to the Provincial People's Council for consideration and promulgation regarding the detailed allocation of the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021-2025 from the lottery reserve fund; and the detailed allocation of the 2023 public investment plan from the provincial budget (reserved funds to be allocated later).
Approval of adjustments to the investment policy for the repair and upgrading project of Nguyen Dinh Chieu and Huynh Thuc Khang roads (section from Hoang Ngoc Tourist Area to Lang Chai intersection), Phan Thiet City. Simultaneously, approval of the investment policy for the road project to Phan Thiet Airport (phase 2); approval of the investment policy for the upgrading project of Thu Khoa Huan road (section from Ton Duc Thang road to Ke Bridge), Phan Thiet City; allocation of provincial budget funds for the 2022 capital plan to implement the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction in the province; approval of the investment policy for the construction, repair, and renovation of Phan Chu Trinh High School, Phan Thiet City; and approval of the investment policy for the road project from the center of Ham Thuan Bac district to National Highway 1A, Ham Thuan Bac district.
