The opening ceremony was lively with many special activities such as: screening of a documentary film about the Thu Bon Goddess Festival, a traditional ao dai fashion show, and an art program "The Sacred Thu Bon River - Legend and Aspiration".

The 2026 Ba Thu Bon Festival will take place over three days (from March 28th to March 30th), comprising both ceremonial and festive activities.

The ceremonial part includes traditional rituals such as: the arrangement ceremony, the procession of the sacred relics, the procession of water, the grand sacrifice, and the completion of the sacred relics. The festive part features many diverse activities such as: boat racing, volleyball, traditional folk singing, a women's domestic skills competition, village chess, OCOP product exhibition, local cuisine , etc.

The Thu Bon Goddess Festival is a ritual deeply rooted in the spiritual culture of the people living along the Thu Bon River, representing folk beliefs and aspirations for a prosperous life, bountiful harvests, and national peace and security.

To date, folk legends about Lady Thu Bồn in Quảng province are very diverse. Some legends say she was a female general of the Champa people; others claim she was a compassionate princess of the Cloud King...

Lady Thu Bồn was once bestowed the title of "Bo Bo Phu Nhan Thuong Dang Than" (Lady Bo Bo, High-Ranking Deity) by the Nguyen Dynasty emperors. In 2020, the traditional Lady Thu Bồn Festival was included in the list of National Intangible Cultural Heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Decision No. 2731/QD-BVHTTDL dated September 30, 2020.

On this occasion, at the Thu Bon Goddess Temple historical site (Nong Son commune), the 2026 Thu Bon Goddess Festival also took place vibrantly from March 28th to 30th with special ceremonies and festivities such as: water procession, sacred procession, lantern release, and cultural and sports activities, contributing to spreading community cultural values.
