Tan Phong Ward has over 33,900 inhabitants, comprising 17 ethnic groups. Among them, the Mong ethnic group accounts for over 4,300 people, concentrated in 8 residential areas. The Gau Tao Festival is a unique traditional cultural activity of the Mong ethnic group in Tan Phong Ward that has been maintained for many years.
This year's festival was organized on a ward-wide scale, with many rich and distinctive national activities such as: the ceremony of offering sacrifices at the ceremonial pole to pray for favorable weather, a bountiful harvest, and the health and peace of the people. The festival included many special activities such as: a welcoming cultural program, a rice cake pounding competition, and making men men (a type of steamed cornmeal)... At the same time, many attractive folk games took place such as: throwing pao (a type of ball), chicken badminton, blindfolded duck catching, carousel rides, and traditional folk singing...

The festival takes place over two days, February 24-25. Organizing the festival not only preserves and promotes the beautiful cultural identity of the nation, but also contributes to creating a joyful and united atmosphere in the community; at the same time, it promotes the image of Tan Phong's homeland and people to friends and tourists, and boosts the development of local trade and services.
At the festival, the Organizing Committee presented gifts and awarded prizes to the teams participating in the competitions.
