Opening Ceremony of the 2025 Ban Flower Festival

On the evening of March 14th, the People's Committee of Dien Bien province organized the opening ceremony of the 2025 Ban Flower Festival and the Dien Bien Province Ethnic Groups' Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival with the theme "Dien Bien - The Ban Flower Blooms Brightly".

The program was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long, along with delegates from provinces and cities, and international friends.

With the theme " Dien Bien - The Radiant Beauty of the Ban Flower", the art program celebrating the opening of the Dien Bien Ban Flower Festival 2025 is divided into three chapters: "Touching the Realm of Memories", "Sensing the Fragrance and Beauty", and "Unleashing the Essence - Reaching for Brilliance". Through each performance, the image of the ban flower is depicted as a symbol of life, culture, and the indomitable spirit of the people of Dien Bien.

This year's Hoa Ban Festival in Dien Bien is being held in conjunction with the eighth Dien Bien Province Ethnic Groups' Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival, featuring many attractive activities that contribute to preserving, honoring, and promoting the traditional cultural values ​​of the 19 ethnic groups in Dien Bien province, and showcasing the natural beauty, cultural beauty, and tourism potential of Dien Bien in particular and the Northwest region in general to a wide audience of people nationwide and international friends.

This is also an opportunity for Dien Bien to continue promoting its advantages in terms of land, people, and natural conditions to attract tourists, strengthen the promotion of its tourism potential and strengths; and strongly promote tourism cooperation and linkages between Dien Bien province and other localities nationwide.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and dedication of the Party Committee, government, and people of Dien Bien province in preserving and organizing the Hoa Ban Festival and the Cultural, Sports, and Tourism Festival of ethnic groups. The beauty and value of the Hoa Ban flower have been preserved, protected, and promoted by the people of Dien Bien through the annual Hoa Ban Festival, becoming a unique tourism product that actively contributes to honoring and developing ethnic cultural forms.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long suggested that Dien Bien province focus on several tasks: developing tourism in a professional, modern, and targeted manner; emphasizing in-depth development to ensure quality and efficiency, affirming brand recognition and competitiveness; and developing sustainable tourism linked to the preservation and promotion of historical and revolutionary relics and national cultural values.

Maximizing the potential and advantages of natural and cultural factors, the unique strengths of the province, strengthening cultural exchange and enrichment among ethnic communities and with provinces in the region and throughout the country. Mobilizing all resources, encouraging the participation of businesses and investors in service sectors, developing infrastructure, and continuously improving the quality of tourism products.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long also requested that central ministries, departments, and agencies continue to pay attention and create favorable conditions for Dien Bien's comprehensive development; and requested that investors continue to focus on investing in the development of tourism and services, contributing to improving the material and spiritual lives of the people of Dien Bien and creating opportunities for them to prosper in their own homeland.

According to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Bien Province, Le Thanh Do, Dien Bien is proud to be the land of the bauhinia flower. For many years, the Bauhinia Flower Festival has been held annually in Dien Bien Phu city, and is loved and anticipated by a large number of people, domestic and foreign tourists. In 2025, the Bauhinia Flower Festival will open on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the opening battle of the Dien Bien Phu campaign, which led to the victory that "shook the world and resonated across five continents"; it is a practical activity to celebrate the Party Congresses at all levels leading up to the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
