The program was attended by leaders from various levels of government, associations, artists, celebrities, and a large number of diners and tourists from both within and outside the country.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, said that in recent years, "Pho Day" in Vietnam and the Vietnam Pho Festival in many countries have gradually formed a rich ecosystem for promoting culture, economy , and tourism.

These activities have contributed to elevating Vietnamese products, agricultural products, and brands; supporting the development of the food processing industry towards modernization; and expanding export opportunities and conquering global markets. The event also helps businesses in the city access new technologies, improve production standards, and increase competitiveness, thereby affirming the position of Vietnamese cuisine on the world map.
Taking place over two days, December 13-14, Pho Day 2025 offers attendees a variety of activities ranging from culinary experiences to entertainment programs, talk shows, minigames with prizes/vouchers for pho, instant photo opportunities, and other interactive activities on stage.

The highlight of the festival is the opportunity for attendees to discover and enjoy the flavors of pho from nearly 30 brands from north to south. Some pho restaurants announced they would be making pho noodles, cooking broth, and demonstrating the preparation process on-site, allowing diners not only to enjoy the taste but also to witness the elaborate pho-making process firsthand.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang expressed her wish that not only pho, but also products associated with pho such as rice, beef, spices, fish sauce, herbs, etc., should all reach the global market. She emphasized that not only large enterprises, but also small and medium-sized enterprises, cooperatives, and traditional craft villages should benefit from these trade promotion events. She stressed that we shouldn't just sell products, but also sell the value, the story, and the belief in the quality of Vietnamese products.

“I suggest that businesses need to quickly standardize production processes, improve quality standards, ensure transparency of origin, traceability, and inspection, understand the market, consumer preferences, and import regulations, and make the most of the support from the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the system of Vietnamese trade offices abroad. This is the path for Vietnamese goods not only to ‘be present,’ but to ‘have a foothold’ in the international market,” said Ms. Phan Thi Thang.
Following the opening ceremony, the talk show "Pho of the Past. Pho of the Present. Pho of Tomorrow?" took place, featuring speakers who were real people, sharing stories from their experiences and expertise.
In this talk show, experts on branding and promoting modern pho will also offer a new perspective on the question of "What will pho be like tomorrow?". If pho can preserve its identity and keep up with the times, what direction should it take to spread globally, through industrialization, while still retaining its unique character?

On the same day, at 7 PM, the talk show "Promoting Vietnamese Cuisine to the World" will continue, expand upon, and further generalize the common story of Vietnamese cuisine "spreading across five continents." The talk show will analyze in more detail advertising campaigns, the strategy to have pho recognized as an international intangible cultural heritage, along with standardized criteria for improving quality, and how Vietnamese films have had a specific impact in bringing the image of the country's cuisine to foreign audiences.
On stage, during the free time slots, there will be mini-games such as "Lucky Wheel" to win prizes and "Mix Pho - On the Shoulders of a Giant," where participants prepare a bowl of pho using ingredients from all the participating pho stalls. The organizers will also launch a mini-game, "Every Film, a Pho Story," for young people, students, and university students to create short clips to record their feelings and share their experiences at the event.

Another highlight of the program is the exhibition area "The Story of Pho" and "The Journey of Pho Day 12/12," where visitors can learn more about the history, culture, and diversity of pho, as well as the journey of the Pho Day 12/12 program over the past decade. Especially in the evenings, the main stage will feature lively musical performances.
