The event was organized to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and to serve the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum in Phu Quoc in 2027 (APEC 2027).

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Kien Giang province, said that the Phu Quoc Tourism and Culinary Festival 2025 is an opportunity for businesses to network, meet, introduce, and promote the image and tourism products of Phu Quoc. “The Phu Quoc Tourism and Culinary Festival 2025 contributes to promoting the beauty of the island's culture, traditional cuisine, and people. This is also a stepping stone for the locality to prepare for the APEC 2027 event,” Mr. Phong emphasized.

Kien Giang hopes that this event will boost tourism demand and attract visitors to Phu Quoc during the April 30th and May 1st holidays. Businesses inside and outside the province will strengthen linkages to develop tourism and commercial products in a professional manner and access increasingly high-quality commercial service supply chains.

“The festival was so much fun. Some roads near Rainbow Park were packed with cars. There were so many locals and tourists. I think the local authorities need to organize more festivals like this so that tourists can learn about the beauty of the people, food, and culture on the island,” said Tran Anh Tuan, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City.
The Phu Quoc Tourism and Food Festival 2025 will run until May 1st, featuring various activities such as promoting Kien Giang tourism, showcasing Phu Quoc cuisine, OCOP products, and displaying export products and specialty products of the province.

The event attracted thousands of domestic and international tourists, as well as locals, who came to visit, shop, and enjoy various traditional Southern Vietnamese cakes such as banh tet, banh u, banh bo, banh da lon… In addition, visitors also shopped for traditional Phu Quoc fish sauce, dried anchovies, and Phu Quoc pepper products.
