Opening of Phu Quoc Tourism and Cuisine Festival

(PLVN) - On the evening of April 29, in Phu Quoc City, the Kien Giang Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center coordinated with provincial departments and Phu Quoc City People's Committee to open the Phu Quoc Tourism and Cuisine Festival 2025.

The event was held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and to serve the Asia- Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum in Phu Quoc in 2027 (APEC 2027).

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong - Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee said that Phu Quoc Tourism and Cuisine Festival 2025 is an opportunity for businesses to exchange, meet, introduce and promote the image and tourism products of Phu Quoc. "Phu Quoc Tourism and Cuisine Festival 2025 contributes to promoting the beauty of culture, traditional cuisine and people on the island. This is also a local step to prepare for the APEC 2027 event", Mr. Phong emphasized.

Kien Giang hopes that through the event, it will increase tourism stimulus activities, attracting visitors to Phu Quoc during the April 30 and May 1 holidays. “The festival was so much fun. Some roads near Cau Vong Park were packed with cars. There were so many locals and tourists. I think the locality needs to organize more festivals so that tourists can learn about the beauty of the people, cuisine and culture on the island,” said Tran Anh Tuan, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City.

Phu Quoc Tourism and Cuisine Festival 2025 takes place until May 1, with many activities such as promoting Kien Giang tourism, Phu Quoc culinary space, OCOP products, space to introduce export products, typical products of the province...

The event attracts thousands of domestic and foreign tourists, local people to visit, shop, and enjoy many types of traditional Southern cakes such as banh tet, banh u, banh bo, banh da lon... In addition, visitors also visit and shop for traditional Phu Quoc fish sauce, dried anchovies, and Phu Quoc pepper products.
